I had a delicious homemade sort of traditional Scottish broth for dinner. 42.2g protein and 37.5g of carbs. Sorry sugar. Sorry carbs. Every gram delicious. I dare him to come at me and my broth.

I have been quietly waiting for this with my tagging finger at the ready.

We'd be here a very long time if I went into everything Horatio does that infringes upon my physical and mental wellbeing and that of the two feline older ladies he also shares the home with. Whirlwind doesn't cut it.

I accidentally found it today when I noticed the number of replies and just KNEW something had kicked off. MFP did not disappoint.

I actually have a ginger cat that chases his tail. Usually on the headboard of the bed at 4am. It's fun.

Who here said they are not eating fat? Who here said half their diet is sugar? Again carbs =/= sugar. Lord above I thought young 'uns these days had poor reading comprehension and analytical skills. Apparently it's cross generational.

I am neither diabetic nor pre-diabetic. Carbs and I are good. Again, A STUDY, an actual link to an actual study, not an article, not you shouting MAYO or anything else.
-
Evidence for this? And not one of the spurious links you've already provided.
-
Come join us in the Food section. Very sensible discussion about the "best" diet happening over there..........You might need to read really really fast though.

Ditch the soda and hand me a lemon drizzle cake instead. Mmmmm.

Tell me, if my protein is adequate, fat adequate, micros being met, what actual, quantifiable harm is the sugar doing to me however I'm eating it?
-
Follow up. Full English? You don't have to have everything or full servings of everything. A couple spoons of beans (quite low calorie anyway), if at home I'm assuming the hash browns will be baked in the oven from frozen, so just have one, again not many calories. One sausage, get a lower fat variety. Two pieces of bacon,…

So you have a smaller deficit for a couple of weeks or no deficit at all. Just log as best you can and aim for maintenance. If you're under, woohoo. I ate all the food on my birthday a couple of weeks age. I eat out regularly. I have take away regularly. I have lost, maintained and continue to lose. 63lbs of loss and…

30 minutes of dumbbell work wouldn't get me enough calories for oats and protein powder so I'd skip it altogether and just save the calories for other food. But it doesn't matter really, do what you enjoy, meets your calorie and macro goals and fits your schedule.

May I please switch Mountain Dew for Dr Pepper or Irn-Bru? Irn-Bru has to be in a glass bottle too, tastes better.* *Irn-Bru and glass bottles reference will be lost on most, it's a Scottish thing. Is big sugar in charge of the NHS and their dietary recommendations too?
-
What fresh hell have I just stumbled into?! *Mayo You talk about peer reviewed studies but haven't actually shared any directly. And honestly come off as incoherent, incapable of well formed, thoughtful debate and thus obliterate any credibility you may have had. Shouting at a bunch of people who, for the most part, are…

This. Also, you don't get brownie points for protein above your needs and carbs in excess of keeping glycogen stores sufficient. Eat the fat, it's good for you and for fuel.

Not much to say other than I am not religious, I believe there are some snippets of historical fact within the bible but am on the side of largely moral lesson fairy stories. And thus, not religious. But respect and defend a persons right to faith (but not right to extremism within any faith) and am also fascinated by…

I think at my top weight I aimed for 140g, which is where aeloine is right now. It wasn't hard to hit with losing 1lb per week and exercise calories. Much like now I often exceeded it because I'd aim for a good hit of protein with each meal and then there's the protein in things you don't realise that bumps it up again.
-
I didn't know either! Who even is he!?
-
You could but you have to actually use the dumbbells. I workout at home with some adjustable dumbbells and a few other bits and pieces but I do actually do it. Many people don't have the discipline and need the gym. It's whatever suits you psychologically and practically.
-
I think this is in line with what is largely recommended round here? It would have me at 114g, I usually have more so yeah, on the money.
-
Or just stop drinking far more water than is necessary? Straw coloured. Clear and you're flushing much needed electrolytes out.
-
If your urine is clear you're going a bit OTT on the water. And will probably get fired for the amount of time you spend going to the bathroom.
-
I think BMI is good enough for most. Your doctor likely just didn't know/care about taking into account your BF% as that's where the real risk assessment should come from.
-
How long have you been eating 1200 calories? As others have said, how are you measuring those 1200 calories to ensure accuracy? How long since you started and last saw a loss? Have you just started/re-started exercise?
-
It really has very little to do with what you eat other than getting adequate protein and everything to do with how you train. Food is food. Protein, fat and carbs. whether it's a pizza or chicken and potatoes. OP, I have toyed with just hanging where I am but I know I am perfectly capable of getting lower and staying…

I'm going to go right ahead and assume sprinkling some cinnamon in your food isn't going to have the same effect as the derivative from cinnamon used in the study...............And even then, unless insulin resistant, totally pointless.
-
And low protein. OP is not doing PSMF, OP doesn't even really know what keto is so the chances of them knowing what PSMF is and executing it appropriately are probably close to nil. She's just flat out undereating all macros. OP has also now closed her diary so I guess didn't like the answers.
-
No resistance training and female means this is a really really really unlikely scenario. OP, it's likely water retention. Give it a bit longer. When I return/start new/increase intensity the scale stalls for a good bit.
