Love my Weight watchers scale from Costco and it was about $15. I gave one to a friend and then switched brands a few times and went back to the weight watchers one :)

I would trust the app before the machines but if you can get yourself a heart rate monitor that counts calories that would be the best for accuracy.

Having migraines myself - inflammation, sugar, gluten, anxiety, lack of hydration all tend to trigger my migraines, but I have them under control now. Sugar.... I would cut way back on the sugar, like the energy drink and lean more towards clean eating.

Definitely don't skip meals and make sure you're eating enough and water for everyone is HUGE. It's hard to eat enough when you're trying to eat better and count calories, but its super important, especially if you have high bp.

Oh gosh, I feel for you - I used to have to avoid veggies all together - but now I can handle a few of them a lot better in small amounts. Sugar and gluten are huge though, if you can reduce those two things alone that helps. I also take a good multivitamin.

Pinterest is an awesome resource especially for recipes of any kind! Just search "healthy smoothie" or browse through the health section.

I've learned that not all calories are created equal... I have greater success when I eat healthier rather than just by making sure I stay in range. That may just be me though.

I got a heart rate monitor/calorie counter for this exact reason - that way I can input it myself by creating a new exercise. It's more reliable too.
