@sothgo I don't know if I ever responded ! That was a year ago... I don't get binge urges usually unless I'm insanely stressed or getting my period. Other than that, it's kinda been smooth sailing.

@bananabeannn I never found the audio version :( I will let you know if I do.

@Hearts_2015 Hi I just saw your comment! I went through a very stressful period from March-May because I was working on my certification. Stress is a huge binge urge trigger for me so I struggled a little and gained a few pounds from it, but since then I've been on track. And yes I've definitely been hitting the gym

I remember taking this a year or 2 ago and I scored really high ... life is so much different now. I scored very low this time. It's possible to beat binge eating.

Hey everyone I might've accidentally not accepted a request or 2 try to re add me if possible !

I got your request !!! :)

The book Brain Over Binge saved my life. Some counsellors are familiar with the AVRT technique in the book.
-
I joined thanks :)

Hey girl I've been there... and then passing out in comatose despite having tons of work to do. It's tough to beat but it's possible.
-
I'm going to check out that book thanks.
-
The book is "Brain Over Binge" by Kathryn Hansen and the technique used in the book is called AVRT. Look it up on YouTube... also the book you can download online through Barnes and Noble.

It wasn't a big deal at all just a reminder.

@sothgo so happy it's at least helping. It's been almost exactly 2 months for me using AVRT. At the end of May I did however struggle again bad with bingeing for a few days but I kept at it and figured it out. It's now June 2 months in and I see the end of my struggle in sight :) @Hearts_2015 the workbook is on Kathryn…

@Hearts_2015 I'm just seeing this now... I'm so incredibly happy that you're getting the book and that your therapist is familiar with it. I would honestly get both... Read the book and listen to it in your car. I didn't know there's an audio I'm going to get it. I reread the book still it's good to refer back. The book…

@sothgo also just a side note... I've almost stopped binge eating since I read the book but I've definitely had ups and downs and found that AVRT is a skill that improves over time. It's been about 6 weeks since I read the book and I'd say I'm almost a "normal" eater now (I'm still trying to lose the 28lbs I gained from…

@sothgo AVRT is a voice recognition technique used by alcoholics, drug addicts, binge eaters etc. to stop their addictive behavior. I used to binge so hard that there were several times I thought I needed to get my stomach pumped. It was a serious problem. Literally since the DAY I began practicing AVRT, I've barely binged…

@Scott_Baldwin I've been a binge eater since I was 10 years old so that's 18 years. Over the past 18 years I've had periods of normalcy but mostly struggled with being slightly overweight, yo yo dieting and binge eating. It didn't get really, really bad until 2 years ago. I heard about the book you mentioned and I read it…

@Hearts_2015 thank you ! @DucktasticallySlim I definitely relate on that one
-
Hey can you point me in the direction of the BED group ?

Are you heavy into fitness? I ask because of your profile picture. I started compulsively binge eating after a competition prep. If you're interested Google the book "Brain Over Binge" it taught me where the binge urges come from in your brain and a thinking technique to detach from it. I'm almost completely past it but…

The book "Brain Over Binge" taught me a great thinking technique called AVRT and how the brain works before and during a binge. Definitely look into the book and the author has a website too that's amazing. Kathryn Hansen is the author.

@LuckyMunky I read a book called Brain Over Binge that was a huge help (at least just google it you will most likely be thankful later) that was practically a cure but I fell back into the habit this week so I'm worried. I'll add you thank you for responding.
