  • Every morning at the gym in my gymwear. I used to weigh before the gym at home naked for a more accurate reading, but scale batteries died (can't be bothered to replace them) and I don't think my gym would appreciate my nakedness for accuracy haha.
  • I don't have to cook for a family, but I prepare big meals and then break down into portions. I use the recipe builder and add everything and then weigh the whole result as the number of servings. So if I make a chicken bake, i'll weigh the dish it's cooked in (eg. 800g) and then weigh the total dish once cooked (800g +…
  • When I first started and was struggling with the change in eating and how to fit it into my busy life, I wrote down the calorie counts of my favourite menu items - that way if I ended up getting McDonald’s for dinner after work, I could at least avoid eating 2 days worth of calories. It also made it easier sometimes to…
  • For me, a logging break is a diet break - I don't find it difficult to log so if i'm not logging, it's generally because I'm overeating and don't care what the macros/calories are. I have found a week off after 4-5 months can be a great mental break, with minimal setbacks - however, you do need to be very aware of how to…
  • Love diet softdrink - easy sweet treat to have that has no calories/carbs/sugar etc.
  • I've lost weight simply calorie counting and i've lost weight calorie counting eating a keto diet. I found the keto high-fat diet is more filling on the same number of calories, but that's about it!
  • 1200 is the minimum usually reserved for short women - men usually have a much higher 'minimum'. Great job so far, but for sustainability, it's time to up the calories a little and slow down.
  • I'm on a keto diet and it works just like when I was simply watching calories eating everything. If you eat too much, gain weight, not enough, lose weight, maintain, maintain. It is difficult when eating out at restaurants to pick "keto friendly" options which is the biggest downside. I also suffered massively with…
  • For me, a messy house/space usually means i'm incredibly busy - when I have a lot of work (2 jobs) and university study, there isn't much time left for housework. If I didn't have meals frozen ready to reheat, I probably would turn to easier options - which usually is overeating (chips, takeaway etc.)
  • There is nothing wrong with carbs - our bodies are designed to prefer them as they are broken down into glucose, the main "Fuel" we run on - even protein can be turned to glucose! Now, I personally avoid carbs as I am on a keto diet - however, it is important to eat more fat and protein in the right ratios to compensate.…
  • I now eat keto for hunger/energy management - still follows the law of calorie counting but I have found it much easier to stay on track with calories. You get a quick drop in weight when starting keto due to your glycogen stores emptying which is motivating to start, but results are similar to normal calorie counting.
  • Fantastic start! The average penis size is just under 6inches so the majority of men would agree it's a massive amount to lose haha
  • My motto is: Calories for weight loss, exercise for fitness and nutrition for health. I lost 12kg through diet alone - Looking back now I wish I had been weightlifting at the time as the scale went down but I didn't have the results I wanted (low weight but high body fat/muscle ratio. But it's definitely doable.
  • Face & ankles for me first (gaining & losing) - Annoying as it's very obvious to others that I've gained/lost weight haha
  • If you want to buy one, it's up to you, but drinking enough water isn't as big of a problem as it is hyped up to be. Adam Ruins Everything - Why you don't need 8 glasses of water a day
  • It's sad that these people are trying to claim this is a thing when there are millions of people starving in the world. If we could live off air, we wouldn't have people starving to death.
  • Water retention could be caused by increased water intake, hormones, cycles or just a normal fluctuation. I really wouldn't worry about it. Source: Australian and am used to 42C days.
  • 1. If you feel fine and eating well, but the app is cranky at you for being under your goal, chances are your log is not accurate. I fell into that trap, estimating what I ate and wondering why I was so full on 1200 calories - it was because I was eating more than 1200 calories. 2. Your goal already gives you a gap in…
  • I like broccoli plain but smothered in cream and cheese also works real good... one of my favourite high fat, low carb meals.

  • Not a term/phrase but I get really sad seeing people bust their *kitten* in the gym, working so hard, then they go to the shops and get a "reward" for all their hard work that is 6x their calorie burn. (Very aware you can fit in treats in calorie counting, but you can pick the ones that really don't realise that they would…
  • How are you measuring your calorie intake? A lot of people who struggle to lose weight while calorie counting are only "estimating" calorie intake and are way off in their numbers.
  • I had wisdom teeth removed and recovery was much easier when I wasn't stressing over calories and just ate what I could, when wanted to. At the worst, I put my progress back a week. It was better than being extra miserable and extra hungry.
  • If you are reducing volume of what you eat, yes you will feel emptier/hungrier than usual. That being said, a lot of people find drinking calories to be not very filling - perhaps replace the smoothie/OJ with something that fills you up a bit better.
  • Eh. The number on the scale doesn't change how I look and people are really bad at guessing. My boyfriend knows mine and I know his because we just started a cut and we talk about that sort of stuff.
  • It is important to remember that keto has a big loss in the first week as you flush out your glycogen stores as well as a fair amount of water. You won't be losing every week like the first week. Keto weight loss is like any other weightloss, calorie balance dependent. How have you been measuring your calorie intake?
  • Are you counting calories? Keto shows great drops in the first couple of weeks as your glycogen/water stores empty but if you are eating too much of anything (keto or not), weightloss will stall.

  • I was so intimidated going into the weights section. I hate cardio and really wanted to start lifting. It was awful at first, but you soon realise everyone is there to focus on themselves (either in the mirror or exercise) and they don't care. Just wipe down machines when you are done with them and no one will care!
  • I have heard it is possible, just harder. However, I would be checking in with your doctor first.
