You can eat what you like, whenever you like. If you have goals, make your food fit your goals to achieve your goals.

Agave syrup, though it has a good glycemic index, has much higher levels of fructose than even high fructose corn syrup--perfect for developing more fat! The excitement over it years ago has been replaced with the scientific knowledge that it is actually worse for us in the long run. Run away!

meh - if you like it, eat it and count the calories.

If you find the calories are too high to justify squeezing other things out to fit it in, then change to a lower calorie alternative (or consume it in smaller portions or less often)

Just like any other higher calorie food items.

Fructose (or any sugar) is not the cause of fat gain, too many calories are.

Same as honey and refined sugar to me. I use them interchangeably. Prefer agave to honey when I'm in a hurry because it's easier to poor and has a more neutral flavor.

I only use sugar when the recipe calls for a lot of sweetness because it's cheaper than either honey or agave. Just canned 4# of freshly picked cherries in 4 cups of sugar which used up almost all the sugar I had on hand.

Made 2 quarts of cherry topping (not jam) that will keep in my pantry for years. Still have a jar that I canned 2 years ago in my frig. A little goes a long way. Tastes great as a topping on ice cream and/or pound cakes. Yum!
