Bit more of an update - still getting improved energy and mood, working really hard on managing stress (but not so hard that it's adding to it!!) and this morning I jumped on the scale to find a 3lb loss- the answer seems clear to keep calm and keto on!!

fantastic story and inspiring. Like you and others, I have lost weight previously in a variety of ways only to gain it back (along with a few more too) and this is the only time that I have been able to keep it off, even during periods of stall.

Hi Sunny_Bunny, yup I totally agree with you - I've started crunching on some Himalayan crystals that I keep in my drawer at work Just to update, I have significantly increased my calories, taken off my deficit on my diary and set it to maintenance and am feeling so much better. Energy still dipping a bit, but nowhere near…

thanks for all your replies, it is much appreciated! Just to update on this; I have (tried) to up my calories over the last couple of weeks, sometimes more successfully than others. I have now left my settings here as maintenance and try for a smaller number left over each day as my deficit...there are days that I simply…

VictoryGarden, absolutely not! :D The reason I know this is I had a medical procedure done in February and had to take a pregnancy test beforehand which came back negative - I would remember if there had been any 'activity' which may have changed this...believe you me, I would ;) ..thanks for the suggestion x
-
thank you all so much for your replies- I did try a couple of weeks at maintenance in March but, to be honest, really struggled to get the calories in (still fighting the old mindset) and I have been thinking about the salt and would agree that, while I think I am keeping up on it, I am probably not. Will up the calories…

I can only echo the last two posters - please go for as high a calorie goal as possible whilst still losing weight - you can adjust as you go on and if you are eating low carb, you will find that you have a nice boost from water weight in the first couple of weeks. Use the opportunity to retrain your eating habits and go…

I got my results back last week, six months in between and went from prediabetic (by 2 points) to normal. I am 5'6 and started at 250 (maybe higher actually). I've lost 37 lbs since June. Don't be deflated, do a bit of research and find a plan that you will be able to stick to and go for it! Nothing too drastic or silly,…

Had a boullion cube in hot water this morning and felt so much better, thanks all x

Thank you all for the welcome and advice. I will definitely start upping the sodium.

thanks rgg and Wachkel (and for the link).

Finished C25K!
-
I have just finished Wk7 and agree with JMcGee2018; I found it much more doable than week 6 (especially run 2) so maybe give it a go before repeating. Now on week 8 and really looking forward to completing and surprised at how much I am enjoying it.
-
Can I just echo the C25K calls please? I have just completed Wk 7 and have loved every minute of it (except W6, R2 :s ). It has taken a total couch potato from getting out of breath going up stairs to being able to run for 25 minutes comfortably. Take it slow, repeat weeks or runs if needed and build up your stamina. Enjoy…

Sorry to harp on, but completed my 25 minute run at the end of Week 6 (c25k) and am falling in love with running - it's not fast, it's not pretty but I found myself getting up to run in the morning today instead of waiting to get home from work and I've felt so good throughout the day - no mid-afternoon slump. Also, lost…

Completed week 6, run 3! I'm starting to like this running lark and that is something that I could never have seen myself saying out loud. Wish I could see a bit more movement on the scales but I'm trying to be patient
-
I finished week 5 of the C25k last night - have tried this programme several times and have never got past week 2. Not only did i complete it, but about half way through, I found myself enjoying it.
-
wonderful job! I finished week 4 yesterday and start on week 5 tomorrow - little apprehensive about this week but find myself enjoying it after the fact. Lovely to see everyone who is and has worked on it
-
Just wanted to get back to those who took the time to answer my question - I am now on week 4 of the c25k and am making sure that I am looking after my hydration and using an electrolyte tablet in my water just before and during my run. Thanks again for this, it has come as a massive surprise to me that I am enjoying the…

Just finished wk 3 day 1 today! Started it a couple of years ago but couldn't get past week 2 (repeated it a couple of times and gave up in frustration). Enjoying it much more this time around

I love it, and have watched the previous series as well! As someone who has previously tried every diet 'fix' in the world before discovering MFP, I can relate to the subjects (especially those who want to lose a stone in a week  ); the extreme methods make me cringe but I thought this weeks article on how accurate…

Thanks H, will try that too - I do sweat (it's so attractive :-)) and have cut out a lot of salt, so definitely a consideration, thanks
-
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question - I think maybe I have gone too much too soon, as I was totally exhausted - will take on board about diet and slowing down :)

My mum still has the box with all the 70s material in it! Some of the recipe cards are HORRIFIC haahaa OH: here's some!! http://www.candyboots.com/wwcards.html[/quote] These are hysterical and disturbing in the same measure! Thanks for the link

I love kale! My granddad used to grow it (way before it became 'the' food) and it was one of the first leafy green veg that I remember eating and enjoying. Cereal of any sort would be my penitent food - don't like the sugary ones and the others feel like I am trying to chew cardboard :s

This is one of my favourite threads on MFP - definitely worth a read

Crisps here too! and haribo gummies or winegum type sweets and a new one I found last week which is dark chocolate covered cranberries ......
