I was in the obese category and could notice a significant change myself after about a month. I'd lost 14 lbs but of that at least 6lbs was just water weight. I was probably losing at 2lbs/week at first. Then things get really slow. Others started wondering at about 30lbs, people mentioned it a lot at 40lbs. If you have…

Congratulations! A definite success :)

I used to be afraid of wearing shorts when I was running because of my jiggly thighs. I've run in capris when it was ridiculous to do so..... and then I realized.....a lot of those shorts wearing runners have jiggly thighs and I've never noticed or cared about what they look like. This summer I will wear whatever keeps my…

Throw protein in the slow cooker before work or however you start your day. (I have sweet and sour chicken cooking right now - it took me literally 45 seconds to throw in frozen chicken breast, brown sugar, vinegar, ketchup and water). Then chop up whatever veg you have, drizzle olive oil and a sprinkle of salt and into…

I can't decide if I love running or lifting more but either way: 1. It makes me feel happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2. I love listening to my music loudly. No solving the world's problems or connecting with my inner self or nature type stuff from this gal...just loud music lol. 3. Sense of accomplishment - I love self improvement!

Well, I eat my lunch at my desk and if I couldn't do that, I would allow myself 90 seconds to eat lol. I run at lunch and I don't have time to shower..... I wear deodorant, and eventually my sweat dries and my red face returns to normal and nobody would ever know. My co-workers are used to it :) I wouldn't run at lunch if…

Bank those calories and then enjoy them!

I wonder if "Lean Green Protein" is another way of saying Keto or very low carb diet? I tried keto for a while and lost weight without counting calories because I ate less since I wasn't hungry AT ALL. Food actually started to gross me out and I knew it wasn't something I could stick to for the long term. I really needed…

Way to recognize those triggers! I have no clue what mine are yet. I'm pretty sure 17 days is my longest streak ever.

Work-life balance is important. Can you talk to your employer about working from home once per week? I have a desk job and can usually fit in a 30 minute run on my lunch break (yup I'm sweaty when I get back) and I eat at my desk.

2 posters above mention "inclinations" and "natural tendencies". Those 100% have to do with why I gain weight in the first place. Making sure I consume fewer calories than I spend is NOT a natural tendency of mine! If it was, I wouldn't be overweight. It is being aware and making changes that result in weight loss success.…

MFP doesn't factor in exercise calories so if you have set your deficit at -0.5/week and you eat the calories allotted, you will get there eventually. It is normal to fluctuate daily (you are right about water weight!) so you won't see much change (if any) over a week. Others will probably chime in with all the great links…

Yup I've noticed all of that but agree that one size does not fit all! For me it is all about triggers and trying to avoid them... I'll bet that's what lots of people are doing.

I just found out about this group and while I knew I wasn't "alone" it is nice to connect with others that deal with binging. We are 3 weeks into the month but I will start from my last binge because I love this idea!: Me: 2 Binge: 0 Dbf: 2

@ReenieHJ I know exactly what you are talking about. This is absolutely what I do. It isn't one thing.... it is uncontrollable and I eat everything in sight. It doesn't even matter if it is something I really crave. I will eat and eat and eat. Sure it is okay once in a while but I do it every single week - and we're not…

Nope - just like I don't log water- but I use coffee mate and I log that.

I can't imagine having this issue - but I certainly respect that some people do. I don't have a slow metabolism - I just eat too much! I naturally want to eat and eat and eat. My nephew is very thin - very! His partner is quite heavy. My nephew was chatting with me about my weight loss and he mentioned that he just has…

A cup of instant chicken stock can hold me over until it is meal time. It satisfies my urge for something savory. There are 10 calories, but 510 mg of sodium in a teaspoon of mix though so if you consume lots of salty foods - this may not be for you.

Pro: Eating large meals, yes you should still count calories. I do IF most of the time but I firmly believe with the chart posted above. I eat within a window of approximately 6 hours but that's just because I save my breakfast calories because I don't care much for breakfast and I prefer a large lunch and dinner. I'm not…
