Please tell me about your hernia repair. I need to have that done but have been hesitating. I have incisional hernias above the belly button (2-3 of them) then a larger one in the right groin. I'm interested in knowing how painful it is after and how you got along. BTW, 162 pounds is AWESOME!! What a great success!!

I need you're support too, Melissa! I've been on MFP since last June but I have only lose 26 pounds. Seems I should have lost a lot more but I have some low thyroid issues so I guess that's why it's taking longer. Anyway, welcome to "the club"!! Glad to have you with us. We'll all keep each other honest getting to that…

It's supposed to be Calories.

Your "comfy recliner" is the likely culprit -- or it was for me. Soft, squishy surfaces make my butt hurt, but if I am on a firm supported surface, I do much better. My daughter has your problem as well but I think her problem is more of a sciatic nerve issue. There are exercises for that if that is your problem.

If you are gaining a lot of muscle, you will weigh more. Maybe that's your issue.

Think on this: you only have to lose 1 pound. Later, you can lose another, and so on. Just get through a day at a time. You will get there. Slow and sure wins the race. I used this philosophy to stop smoking and it worked well for me and I'm doing the same with weight loss. Once you get it in your mind, your body will…

Your weight seems great. Once you get toned, you will weigh more but who cares as long as you look good in your clothes and you feel better! I'm lazy, too, but I'm learning not to be so much.

Thanks for the insight!

Kind of what I thought. Thanks!

How wonderful for you! It's taken me over 6 months to lose 26 pounds on my own. But, I'm just scared of surgery. I've had several and really don't want to do it. But I'm thrilled for you!!!! Tell me....what was your recovery like post surgery?
-
Sandi...what a frustrating thing to have to go to after so much success! I believe it would be wise in your case to discuss this with a nutritionist. Perhaps they will have ideas that will put you back on track. Best wishes with your surgery!

Thanks for the tip! I don't have a problem all day long but after I eat dinner -- that time between 7:00 and 9:30 just about kill me. That's when I would get a snack but I do need to try this for sure.

I have heard that soup keeps you feel full longer. My thought on it is that somehow the hot liquid causes a fuller feeling in the stomach. Who cares why it works if it does - right?

Try drinking water when you feel like you are hungry. Dehydration "feels" like hunger and it makes a difference for me.

I'm in the same boat and it is sooooo frustrating! It's taken me from LAST JUNE till this JANUARY to lose 26 pounds. It takes me 4 times longer than a normal person to lose 2 pounds. Partly because I have no thyroid and take meds to supplement but I still think somehow that is related. But now, I'm stuck at a place between…

What a success story! Hurrah for you! I take inspiration from fine folks like yourself.
-
I'm so proud of you! I've only lost 22 lbs (been doing it since June) and it feels like it's going to take forever.
-
Thanks. It is encouraging!

Thank you so much for this information! I'll check out Trendweight!

I don't have menstrual cycles anymore, so it's probably not that. Every bite is logged religiously so maybe it's the fact that I don't have a thyroid messing with me.
-
Don't worry. I had the same problem. I love food! But since you are ready (as I was) and I know you can't wait to see the pounds come off (it may come slowly as it did for me), but if you use the MVP app (on a desktop computer - not the phone), you will see results.
-
That is an easy way to avoid the kitchen (smile)!

I know you are right. Just at the moment I did it, it made me feel bad. Trying not to be so hard on myself.

Thank you for your suggestions. My problem is that I am married to a guy who really likes his junk food sweets. Impossible to keep them out of the house (what I'd like to do), but I have found that grapes are a good snack for me and they're almost no calories. My calories for the day are 1200 but I feel as long as I'm…

I don't think I'd ever lose any weight if I went off every weekend. I think my metabolism is in the toilet and that's why it's so slow for me. Congratulations on the 100 lbs weight loss. That is incredible. Thanks for the pep talk!
-
I'll try to do that! Thank you!
-
I'll try -- thanks!
-
I don't think I will ever be "under calorie" but hopefully, not so much over next time.

Thanks, Kissed! Hug!

Thank you for your kindness!
