  • 927 days! This poem helped me get through some of the hardest days and reminds me the reason I want to drink will only be magnified if I do. I drank for joy and became miserable. I drank to be outgoing and became self centered. I drank to be sociable and became lonely. I drank for friendship and made enemies. I drank to…
  • He is 400 lbs! He needs to save himself. My partner had to choose live in a dry home with me or somewhere else. I’m still not to a point where I can have it in my home. He saw my failed attempts at moderation and wanted to support me. This is not at all like you not liking meat and cooking it. People can smoke pot around…
  • I no longer drink and sweets trigger the same thing. I remind myself I don’t want one drink and I don’t want one piece of pie. I wish I was someone who was satisfied with just one, but I’m not. I remember that feeling of shame and embarrassment to remind me I won’t feel good after, I will be thinking about my next before I…
  • I’m thinking about training for a marathon. What distances do you run? Also, would be curious to know how you like the new lifting routine when you start.
  • It’s good to see I do make progress. StrongLifts Update: Squat 140 now 150 Deadlift 185 same Bench 90 now 110
  • Update: Squat 140 Deadlift 185 Bench 90-going the wrong way
  • I lift at home and started StrongLifts this spring. My goal is to be able to squat, deadlift and bench my body weight by next spring. Squat 135 Deadlift 160 Bench 98 -I have a set of 1/2 lb plates CW 159 It’s inspiring to see all the big numbers...and a bit humbling.
  • I’m a little surprised at all the negative responses. I was basically saying what are your fitness and body goals. I said train like one. I didn’t say all marathoners do is run long distances or sprinters just do short sprints. However, they obviously focus their energy differently. The fact that people automatically know…
  • I ask myself do I want a sprinter's body or a marathoner's? They are very different, so train like the one you want.
  • Awesome! I just passed 30 days. It is getting easier! I planned a fall off the wagon, but now I'm not so sure.
  • I think that depends on where you will be kayaking and what you want to do with it. I have done a couple of overnight kayak trips and some more relaxing lake/river day trips.
  • Have you read the responses?! Most women are afraid and do it anyway. We are taught to be afraid. We are taught to see victims as having made some mistake that if we study and learn from we can avoid making. OP, my comment was in support of you going back and enjoying something you enjoyed before others told you to be…
  • It doesn’t matter if you are raped if just the threat of it makes you retreat from living your life. When I was preparing for a solo trip, it was the unspoken and sometimes spoken fear that I would be raped. We don’t make a woman take a man with her; we just keep her in fear so she doesn’t want to venture out alone. The…
  • Congrats on another day! For me it wasn't a matter of calories but a need to clean up my act. I don't do moderation well. Alcohol, pizza, or donuts. When people on the forums discount food addiction, I think great than I am not an alcoholic either. ;) My relationship is the same with both I don't want one donut and I don't…
  • 26 days for me!
  • Alaska
  • I was wondering the same thing. I have a couple of Anthony DiLuglio workouts and wasn't sure how to log it.
  • I enjoy curries and stir-fries, but those do not have to be vegetarian. I don't know if you eat eggs, but omelettes are an easy way to add veggies. If I eat fruit, it is usually just a piece of fruit or an apple with peanut butter.
