  • I walked to Adrian drive today, about a half hour walk there and back:) I haven't been able to work out for a few weeks cause of knee pain, but I think easy walks every day will help a lot, so this is a great idea. Also, in total so far I have taken 7,794 steps today! Not quite the 10,000 I aim for, but pretty close:)
  • I'm totally in! I'm gonna start planning my alphabet walks today, I'll let you know what my 'A' is tomorrow:)
  • Thanks for responses everyone:) I probably did try to do too much too fast. Sad that only doing two miles in a half hour is too much but ok! I did get new running shoes, so maybe I will start the treadmill again at just a walk, not push myself for speed. Elliptical sounds good too. I suppose I did eat fewer meals, skipping…
  • What jemhh said is sooo right. I meal prep and it is awesome! I take Sundays to decide on lunches for the week, get all the groceries and prep everything. Then I just have to grab the container labeled "Thursday lunch" and im set. I do the same with fruits and veggies for snacks. If you wash and prep them beforehand, then…
  • I suggest stewing, roasting, or bbqing peaches, eat them with milk and cinnamon and nutmeg on top. Soooo good! Can you eat dried fruits? A lot of bulk food sections at the supermarket have interesting options. You could make some tasty berries into jam, and make a pb and j tortilla wrap. You could cook the veggies/fruits…
  • I usually have a greek yogurt of some yummy flavor, or a smoothie. I blend 2 cups various fruits, half a cup cucumber, 2 cups spinach and a cup of milk. Then I freeze portions in ice cube trays or muffin tins. Pull out a portion the night before and stick it in the fridge. Breakfast is ready when you get up:)
  • You're welcome to add me, I'm new too:)

  • I do the same thing. It sounds kinda mean, but what kinda makes me feel better is the idea that it could be so, so, soooo much worse. If you compare to the average American population, I'm doing pretty dang well! Lol
  • Nothing helped me stave off cravings, so instead of waiting for-ev-er in between three large meals, I eat 6 small meals throughout the day. Breakfast at 7, snack at 10, lunch at 1, snack at 4, dinner at 7, snack at 10. By the time I'm ever hungry, I'm only an hour or so away from my next meal time. I can do that!
  • I always overestimate, but it's an educated guess. I have worked in restaurants for 10 years, no chef I have ever worked for is concerned with health more than taste. No chef has ever said "I'll use olive oil instead of butter, it tastes almost as good!" Everything has butter in it. Or bacon. Or both. I'm talking…
  • I love chocolate covered almonds, winco has surprisingly good ones in the bulk foods. Frozen blueberries are also awesome! I also love a bowl of peach slices and milk with a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg(little sugar if you wanna go crazy) sooo good!
  • I have thinking about this a bit myself, but I finally decided that a serving of fruit is still way healthier than an alternative snack like, say, a bag of Cheetos. Eat the fruit, enjoy it, and revel in knowing that you made a healthy choice:)

  • Today I had two scrambled eggs and half of a leftover baked potato. Tomorrow a smoothie: blueberries, strawberries, cucumber, spinach, milk and a little lime juice. I make a few of these and freeze them in ice cube trays or muffin tins. Then just pull out a serving the night before and stick in the fridge. Yum:)
  • Thanks guys, this is what I suspected, but it was one of those questions that would nag at me forever if I didn't just ask.
  • Hahaha! Omg thank you so much for that video, you have no idea how much I needed that. Of course you all are right, they are not that big of a deal. I will try the suggestions in hopes of reversing the damage, but if not oh well. Thanks
  • I don't think it matters what time you stop, as long as you do. I personally like to snack while I watch tv, and if I can't sleep I'll eat until 2 am. I find it helps me a lot to give myself a curfew. Logging on mfp helps, once I "complete" my logging for the day I'm done, no more food till breakfast.
  • I am starting out too, and I kinda think that slowly is the way to go. I've fallen into the trap of going all out, thinking I'm gonna do hour long work outs 6 days a week and I'll look so good, then get winded walking into the gym, snap myself with a resistance band and wallow in ice cream. I've found that body weight…
  • Good for you for starting again, realizing the situation and taking control! I am also starting again to get healthy, and I'm finding preportioning all the things that will bust my calorie budget helps a lot. Instead of grabbing (and promptly eating) the whole bag of chips, I have many small ziploc bags with a serving of…
  • I have had the same problem, and I know how the urge feels. One thing that has helped me is to find out what a healthy portion or serving of the food is and put it next to what you want to eat, then you can really see how excessive the binge amount is. But as I said, I have had the same problem, sometimes you've just gotta…
  • I had always been thin until a few years ago. I gained about ten pounds, considered it a protective layer for my awesomeness and didn't mind it lol Then in the past year I have gained 20 pounds, and stretch marks on my love handles. I need to stop this before it can't be fixed! Also, I love my boyfriend and want to have…
  • I'm 5'3, I just started yesterday to make and I'm hoping to lose about 20. Add me:)
  • I can definitely use some support, need some motivation and accountability!
