  • Perfect! Thanks for the help!
  • Okay....so just to make sure I understand correctly....I DO NOT manually enter my excercise in MFP then? Fitbit and MFP have a crazy little program....and it works...lol. and if my calorie adjustment shows a positive number....do I eat back a portion of those calories as I would (used to) with my "excercise calories"? I…
  • I have the same issue...my fitbit doesn't put my active minutes or calories burned during that time into MFP....wasn't sure if I should manually enter too.
  • I make the mug cakes....they are awesome. A bit dry for me tho. I too it with dark chocolate chips or whip cream. They are super good and you don't have to worry about a whole cake staring you down for days on end
  • I think it depends. I usually work out right after lunch...so I pack a lunch full of protien. Usually a turkey sandwich and cottage cheese. Sometimes I do some baked chips. Then after I work out for 60 minutes I usually have a small snack. Usually fruit or yoguart.
  • It's a good idea to eat 50-75% of excercise calories back. MFP has a nasty habit of overestimating calories burned during workouts....so 50-75% is a good number to keep a deficiet.
  • Hahaha.... I love thus! Good for you girl! Keep up the good work and I'm sure you will be successful!!!
  • Yes. I scoop out little by little on my plate/bowl until the scale says 112 grams. Sorry if this is weird to people. This is just how I do it. I respect that everybody does things different. Can even respect that people have differences of opinion. To the original poster (which is who I posted to to begin with). Only you…
  • It is the same weight....since I weigh the freaking chips myself....every time. Actually a full serving is 30 grams. I only eat half a serving. So I weigh out 15 grams of chips. I'm not a grazer....I don't grab handfuls of food. I start with an empty plate and tare out between every food. I eat exact serving sizes....sorry…
  • This is EXACTLY what I do....thank you. :)
  • My trainer says that when people start a weight loss journey they should decrease by 500 calories. Since I have already decreased to the lowest amount she suggested starting with 250 Agree or not...this is what I am talking about with rude people. This person is asking for advice. Weight loss is different for every single…
  • Yes....see my post further down about weighing my food..
  • I agree that 9 times out of 10 it is a logging issue. But nobody here can determine whether or not you are logging accurately....and MFP doesn't help in that area. I posted the other day asking about my plateau...and people were down right RUDE. I posted that I WEIGH everything. Basically people were calling me a liar…
  • Okay....I JUST got off the phone with my personal trainer regarding this same question. Like you, I have plateaued....for 4+ months. I was consuming between 1000 and 1300 calories a day and not eating my excercise calories. Now I'm sure that everybody has different advice but I am going to choose to take my personal…
  • My Garmin HRM puts it at "walking" regardless of what I'm doing. Usually I am doing areobics and weight lifting daily....but when I sync my heart ate monitor it puts "walking"....it doesn't even give me an option to change it.
  • I don't expect instant results. I have been on this weight loss journey for nearly a year (I lost 30 lbs before starting MFP). I started in September of last year and lost 30 lbs by January. Since January I haven't lost anything. I never can seem to get below 160. That is why I joined MFP figured maybe it would give me the…
  • Sorry. I opened it to the public. :) thanks!
  • I would enter then just the same. Enter breakfast as the 1st meal when waking up....and so on.
  • I have become an addict to "My 600 pound life". I was watching it last night and this lady lost 168 pounds in TWO months! The doctor didn't seem to be concerned....even tho she was starving herself and only ate Jell-O cups....long story short....she got the bypass surgery and continued to lose weight at a healthy rate. Was…
  • It finding something you enjoy. I love to dance....not like professional or anything pretty....lol. So I put in my ear buds....jam to some good tunes and do a whole dance routines to my favorite songs on my step (just a step from Walmart). It's fun....I enjoy it and it burns tons of calories (I wear a heart rate monitor to…
  • I have the Garmin Vivofit....and I love it. It came with a heart monitor....which I am also impressed with. Everything transfers into MFP accurately. My reason for picking the Vivofit was: 1) waterproof 2) no charging (it runs off a small watch battery....so lasts a couple years) 3) heart monitor included 4) gps capability…
  • Same thing here.....lost great the first week....then I gained a few pounds over the next 2 weeks...95% of the time I am under my calorie goal. I work out 7 days a week ( wearing a heart monitor....for more accurate calories burned). After two weeks I finally started losing again. It takes a couple weeks for everything to…
  • Notice....this is a detox.....not a fast. I do 1 day of vegetables only (excluding potatoes). 3.3 lbs. Then 1 day of only fruit (2.2 lbs)
  • I usually do a 2 day detox....especially if I'm experiencing heavy cravings and high hunger. Usually after a 2 day detox 1200 calories seems like a ton! But the 2 day detox sucks! But as long as I stay around 1200 calories...I don't need to do another detox. It's only when I over eat heavily for a period of days....like…
  • Got mine from walmart. It has both grams and ounces. Weigh absolutely EVERYTHING. And hers how you do it. Say you are going to have a salad for lunch...put the bowl on the scale...then tare (set the scale to zero) the scale....then put lettuce in the scale until it hits your desired amount....tare the scale again...do this…
  • Still may be the case....I start gaining around 10 days before....then it doesn't come off until 3 or 4 days afterwards. I usually gain between 5 - 10 lbs. :( Of course it comes right off afterwards....but it's still annoying every month.
  • Yep....I have a similar friend (although she isn't mean to me about weight loss) she has always been super thin. She post pictures of bags and bags of candy that she ate for breakfast/lunch....yet she never gains anything! When she hears me talking about my weight loss journey she will make comments like "you need to…
  • Hello Myra, I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I was put on medication (which didn't seem to help at all). I know some people get really irate when I tell them how I "fixed" the problem. But I am going to share it with you anyway. Honestly, I was 45 lbs overweight and take my thyroid meds every single day. I changed…
  • Hahahaha.....isn't that the truth! I lost 30 pounds before starting MFP and I am working on the last 15. I love when people see me and they will say "you have lost SO much weight....what are you doing?" I answer with "it's this CRAZY new diet....excercise and counting calories!" They look at me like I'm crazy....then begin…
  • I am a peanut butter addict! Like, could seriously eat peanut butter all day long. When I started logging calories it was obvious that I would need to find a substitute for my delicious peanut butter. Anyway....I ordered PB2 online. (It isn't sold in any grocery stores around here. It is a powdered peanut…
