Five days is just not enough time to judge. Your weight can fluctuate a few to several pounds in a week just due to water retention or irregularity. I think it's good to weigh in every week so you keep an eye on it but give it a month before you get concerned. Next week you may be down 4 or 5 pounds.

Thanks for this. I looked back on my calorie intake since I started MFP and I eat over my daily goal about half of the time. Maybe a little more. So I'm tracking well, but still eating too much. It shows on the scale. :'(

I used to feel that way about water but now ice cold from the fridge, the most refreshing drink hands down. Try adding a slice of lemon or lime or a few berries. Or Drink club soda with the added fruit. You get the fuzzy without the sugar.

I am 5'6" and 188 and my thighs are 24". I would love it they were 22". But I'm 40" DD on top so I need the ballast.

I also think this is a good occasional choice and easy to prepare. They taste ok too. Just be sure to watch the sodium content.

Yes my doctor didn't settle on my dose for 18 months. I think your body is used to being without and so when you gat a little you felt better but have now leveled out. I'm betting they will increase your dose after bloodwork.

Thank you for your thoughtful response.

They are In California! I gained 35 pounds in 3 months when I quit smoking but then discovered Hashimotos Thyroid syndrome. Loosing is motivating. Good job on the 19 pounds. You can do it.

Welcome to the journey! I hope the best for you.

When I walk I like to go someplace in nature where there are not any people. I just listen to the birds and the breeze in the trees.

is armor thyroid lots more expensive than levo?
-
I've been hearing people say they prefer Armour Thyroid. What's the diff?

I think it took about 18 months to two years to get my dose regulated. But it's a forever thing. My hormone production is not coming back without the meds. However my dose has not changed in 13 years, so that means to me that it's not getting worse. I've read that iodine is essential to production of thyroid hormone and…

Like Lindsey1979, My colds seemed to be more virulent when I was first diagnosed and getting my meds figured out. But Now I hardly ever get a cold. Knock on wood! B)

75% of Americans have thyroid related health issues and many of them don't know it.

Hi. Ive been using my fitness pal for about a month. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 15 years ago. I have yoyo'd for 15 years. I had great success with weight watchers but got tired of spending the money to go to meetings. I really think the accountability was helpful. I've had doctors tell me that as long as my…

I'm at the beginning and I have lost nothing. This is not my first rodeo however. My past efforts at weight loss saw me loosing faster right out of the gate, slowing to a regular predictable 1 to 2 pounds a week and slowing to a crawl till I stopped loosing altogether about 10 pounds from my goal. Unfortunately I gave up…

There seems to be a lot of debate about whether a calorie is a calorie. It makes sense to me that sugar and starch will spike blood sugar more than eggs and chicken breast. Is this true or not? If I eat nothing but ice cream and beer will I still loose weight as long as I keep my calories under the limit? I've heard that…

I started with about 60 pounds to loose and have lost exactly none! I've been logging for about a month. I can see from looking back on my food diary that I consistently eat more than my budget of calories. So that's a good thing, that I can see what I'm doing. Now it's just a matter of correcting that. It's a learning…

I actually lost a shoe size once.

I'm no expert, but it seems to me you would be better off to just eat the food. Juice is more calorie dense and contains less fiber.
-
Is this the diet with the color coded containers?
-
y step daughter is using a system of color coded containers, ie; green for veggies, yellow for fats, etc. She's allowed so many greens per day. So many yellows. I don't know what it's called but she's also doing PIYO, which is an exercise plan. It's working great for her.

Make sure that you are eating plenty of protein at all your meals. It will make you feel full longer. If I'm starving between lunch and dinner I eat a hard boiled egg. It totally works. I know you cant eat during your work time but if you carry a couple of eggs with you and eat one as soon as you get off work it will keep…

You are an inspiration. Thank you. You look beautiful by the way.

I usually have an English muffin with two slices of deli ham, an egg an ounce of swiss cheese and a tbsp. of basil tahini pesto. This is a filling breakfast that's quick and easy to prepare and keeps me from thinking about eating again for hours. It's about 350 calories.

Uh, no. I've never googled McDonalds. I posted this because I think it's ironic, that's all. I realize we are not all pursuing the same goals. I feel like I should apologize for asking the question. Thanks for your support.

You may be a lazy sack of lard but you don't have to be. I was a lazy sack of lard and then I started walking and riding my bike. A body in motion stays in motion. The more you move the more you want to move. Now I'm an active sack of lard, but that is changing. Bit by bit. Love yourself. Be kind to yourself, but push…
