I used MFP & Slimming World together for 12 weeks (free with NHS). I found it a very useful starting point - Love their healthy recipes, talking to actual people about what works & where locally to find healthy foods. The only thing I did differently to usual SW was to log & limit myself to the MFP calories rather than…

I'm on slimming world! Currently not great at following it, but I'm trying! Slimming World is a British slimming group (Online or local weekly meetings). I'm with them mostly for healthy recipe ideas & the motivation of a weekly weigh in. But their current policy is fill your plate with a third fruit/veg, then fill up on…

I'm doing slimming world too, and MFP, although I am a bit rubbish at sticking to the SW side of things, feel free to add me! X

Don't know where you are in the world or your size, but age 24 & size 18, I ended up going for something like this - http://www.bonmarche.co.uk/swimwear/large-spot-print-swimdress/invt/17681453 A swimdress. It's a bit like a regular costume underneith, but the outer floaty dressy bit helped disguise parts I was…

@Anjalisaini You don't need email addresses to add people - Just click on their photos, go to their profiles and "Add as friend"

I'm doing this, because I've got free SW membership for 12 weeks :) Feel free to add me! SW is great for tips & recipes, plus the incentive of weekly weigh ins & extra support. I'm at the end of my second week of it, & to be honest, I have felt a bit restricted by the "syns" at times, particularly when I want a little…

Be brave! Bite the bullet & find out your measurements. Even take a photo if you can! Because months down the line, following my gradual weight loss (Only done a month or so on MFP but months of work before hand), I really wish I knew for certain what my starting weight was, for my motivation (on those bad days) & so that…

Yes! Apart from rather than kids, it's my partner bring home sweet treats! Haha :) I try to limit how much of it I eat, log it honestly, burn off the calories(x2) if I can, try to stay under my calorie allowance &, worst case scenario, I compensate for it the next day :)

I LOVE THIS IDEA! It made me chuckle & I will definitely give it a try on those off days!

Hi, I'm vegetarian too & sometimes have a protein shake to increase my protein levels. I love Bulk powders chocolate cookie whey powder & milk (norm or almond), it is a tasty treat that satisfies my chocolate cravings & protein needs. However, generally a protein shake isn't considered a meal replacement on it's own.…

Completely agreed with @Azuriaz . I'm in team "in moderation" - You can eat anything you want in moderation. Stay under your daily calorie goal, have a little of what you're craving, accurately measure & log it. A suggestion I heard the other day - If there's a treat you know will be a weakness for you, decide what would…

Hi there! I started MFP over a month ago, since then I've lost 1st 2.5lbs, but I've still got a long way to go. I can support you, if you're happy to support me too :) Add me!

I agree with @newmeadow , log honestly & browse the guidance on this site. You may be shocked by the amount of calories you eat day to day. After my initial week of logging, I started by just making a swap or change a week to try and be more healthy, some of the swaps stayed, others needed tweeking to be maintainable,…

Seeing a difference can be tricky! A few different ways to see & track your loss might include: - Taking photos of yourself in the same outfit & pose, say once a month? You might not think/feel you look different when just seeing yourself in a mirror day to day (because it's healthy gradual weight loss) but a comparison…

Have a browse through the Success Stories forum! I was feeling a bit down about ever losing my belly fat, but a few minutes looking at their stories & before/after pictures has made me see that it is achievable! There are a few "skinny to muscle" stories to breeze past, but honestly, go have a look :)

We all go through bad patches! Don't beat yourself up about it, it's life! You've got to remind yourself why you want to lose weight & keep it off. You say yourself that you have "bad habits" & it's great that you acknowledge them, but now you have to think "what can I change to avoid slipping into these habits?". Your…

Now THAT'S preparation! Well done! Hoping that one day I'll have this much discipline :)

For me, it is definitely making sure that I don't have those unhealthy binge foods in the house. Even if it's food for family, instead buy in some low fat ice cream & frozen fruit etc, make a healthier sundae of it. Small healthier swaps will make it lower calorie, you'll feel better about it & find it easier to get back…

I think setting a 30day challenge is a great idea! If you're honest & log everything you eat (I know all about those sweet cravings before & after work!), MFP gives you a really good basis to start better managing and improving your diet  Yes it's only 30 days, but if it gives you insight or incentive to eat healthy…

Carrots are progress! :) My bf loves his onion rings, fudge & big bags of crisps... Still a tad painful when I'm sat eating grapes during movie night! Haha! We will get there!!

I know your struggle! I can support you, if you can support me, add me :) ((& anyone else wanting to share, support & vent together, we all have bad days where we need to talk to stay on track!)) 14.6st (Have lost weight & hope to keep losing!) Female 24 England

Hi there! 24y.o. from UK with 3-4st to lose. I had a bad eating bf too, but now he's seen my commitment to healthy eating, he's made his own diet changes & now I'm used to not always eating the same as him (healthy, unhealthy or in between). Feel free to add me for support & motivation :)

I was (& still sometimes am) a junk food vegetarian! I have little time or motivation for cooking complex recipes. I started by just making a swap or change a week to try and be more healthy, some of the swaps stayed, others needed tweeking to be maintainable, others I've never gone back to, but it's worked & I'm losing…

I'm a vegetarian (I eat eggs & milk) with some bad weekend habits, but I'm gradually losing weight. Feel free to add me :)

Gosh those bento boxes look amazing! Worth a look :) Starting from the top of the forum with @wizzybeth - Tonight I've prepared a "half a quorn burger, low fat cheese, pepper, lettuce & mushroom wholemeal wrap" (not enough lettuce to make that the wrap tonight, need a shopping trip!) using leftover vegetables & no oil, it…

Thanks guys, some great ideas & advice! @jchite84 love your tiny pot pies idea. I shall definitely have to buy a decent flask & ice pack :) I will experiment for the next couple of weeks, test out all these recipes & let you know how I get on! If I can find something to make on a Sunday and eat throughout the week then…

@oh_happy_day fritatas & salad wraps sound like a good idea! Particularly like the idea of mini veg-packed fritatas, 1 small handful could be very easy to eat etc. Definitely one to try, thanks! :) I could drop the low carb option, now I mostly just need to make sure I'm getting all my nutrients & not completely filling my…

Oooooh @wizzybeth - those are some fantastic ideas! I hadn't considered meat alternatives, I've never tried them cold before :open_mouth: but maybe a cold quorn or chickpea burger & veggies wrapped in a lettuce leaf... Maybe in a foil wrap to keep it all together & stop mess... I will have to try it! I do eat free-range…

I was 15 & a half stone... Have since lost a few lbs, but would love to get down to 10st... I can try! Either way my health is improving & I'm fighting the fat - Feel free to add me :)
