I was vegetarian for 8 years with minimal faux-meat products. Just focus on whole foods like veggies and grains and dairy. I like greek yogurt, eggs, and cheese for protein. One of my favorites was a veggie scramble. Just a bunch of broccoli or spinach or whatever you like mixed with egg whites and one whole egg. Season as…

I did 23andMe. I love it. No long-lost relatives unearthed but I love the ancestral history. Even tells me what % neanderthal I am! it's a lot of fun and very interesting. I hope one day to log in and find an aunt or uncle or something who had no idea they were missing family. ;) Careful, though. I saw an Ancestry test…

TavistockToad: I have insanity and P90X around here somewhere. I'm going to dig those out. Good call! Thank you. I never made it past the first week but I am determined. I appreciate the suggestion very much! Also, generally to the thread, I've just started looking up "30 minute womens weight training" on YouTube and fell…

Thanks, jjpptt2. I will check him out!

Get yourself a standing desk (even a small, kid's play table or a wooden produce crate would do) and a stability/balance board to stand on. Booty for dayyyyyys!

Add me, too. I lost 85 lbs (never hit goal which would've been 25 more) back in 2011, maintained my loss for a few months but gained most of it back due to lifestyle and choices. Really started up again December 1. So far so good. I'm moderately active in the feed. Much more so than the forums. More support there. :) You…

I wish this country were more body-positive and nudity-friendly, so I am all for it. I wish seeing breasts and behinds wasn't so "icky" for so many adults in the US. Sure could learn a thing or two from our European brothers and sisters. That said, bring your own yoga mat please. :D

You guys are right. It hasn't been long enough. Just never experienced this last time. Going to keep doing everything I've been doing and give it a few more weeks. It's thermodynamically impossible not to lose fat while doing what I've been doing. Just gonna have to keep going and wait this out. Cheers.

There are sheets 1 and 2. I am on 1 but see names on 2. Are we using both?

Back in! :D

I've done intermittent fasting pretty much my entire adult life. I've done it while 110 lbs overweight and while 15 lbs overweight (closest I got to goal). It can certainly be helpful if you're counting calories. As with all things, not a magic bullet, of course. But since I've been counting again - I start my work day at…

Not known to drink my dairy. Just the bourbon, please.

You shouldn't weigh yourself that often. At MOST once in the morning, after you pee, before you eat/drink. 5 lbs is super minute and if you know it's not fat, don't worry. Water gain goes away after a short time. Good luck!

I am reminded every 600 seconds that people over the age of 50 don't know what a phone jack is.

YUM. Pickled beets?

That is really odd, dude. But, hey, I obsess over weird stuff too. Here's a thought: the last time a lot of people measured their height was in high school P.E. or at the doctor with shoes on. They just glommed onto whatever figure they can remember. Last time I checked, neither of those are accurate measurements of the…

I grew up pretty and thin and lived to tell about it. You're fine. Don't be irrational. Being fat doesn't make you safe, it just makes you invisible. False sense of security.
-
The 1200 daily goal already puts you at a deficit to lose weight. So if you burn more calories off, you get to eat more. You should have eaten 1700 calories today. Hope that makes sense. I lost 85 lbs doing it that way. Good luck!

Your roommates need to buy their own food. WTF. LOL

Haha! We almost posted the exact same thing. Guess I should've looked first. :)

Tuna and peas, girl. Can of tuna, frozen peas, 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, few drops of stevia, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, onion and garlic powders, boom. I eat it straight up, but it's also good in a wrap or tortilla, on crackers, on toast, on sandwich thins, in a lettuce-wrap, etc. Dice some celery in for crunch and…

Guacamole Salad * .5 hass avocado, cubed * .5 can black beans, low sodium * 1 roma tomato, diced * .5 bunch cilantro * 1 tsp onion powder * .5 tsp chipotle powder * .5 tsp garlic powder * .5 lime, juiced * optional, one or more: diced red bell pepper, cucumber, celery, yellow squash, zucchini, onion, jalapeno, sun-dried…

I do. Otherwise, I get too hungry later and make bad decisions. I'm trying to regulate my inability to regulate my appetite, here, after all. lol But, seriously, consistency is key. I should've learned that when I lost 85 lbs 5 years ago. :)

That's great! Nice kick-off to future losses. It'll level out to about 1-2 lbs/week but don't get discouraged! Celebrate this awesome start with a nice walk or bike ride, somewhere scenic if possible. Enjoy!

I'm 5'3½", which I don't consider all that short since 5'5" is average female height, but I fit your criteria! I was about 125 in college. I got up to at 235 as my heaviest. Lost 85 lbs in 2011 (using MFP) but gained it all back in subsequent years due to bad choices. I got back up to 235 in 2014, lost a few, down to 212…

WEEKLY PIZZA. I love pizza and have been eating it about once a week lately. I always go all out and do 3-4 slices plus ranch which is my whole day's worth of calories. I'm good about planning it in but it means shorting myself before and/or after which sort of feels like I'm making up for it the rest of the week. I think…

No, that's ridiculous. Just log your food and either eat to maintenance or work out a bunch. I'm going for a day hike on Christmas Eve, for example. Should burn 700-1100 calories. Or just intermittent fast til dinner, take a bite or two of each thing, and enjoy up to your calorie goal. All sorts of ways to mitigate any…
