I get protein from beans. I have eaten black beans my whole life (Hispanic household), but have you considered upping your legume intake bit by bit? From what I seem to remember, sprouted lentils are easier to digest, and lentils pack a good protein punch. You could try making a stew or soup from sprouted lentils. Lentils…

Time to be honest and face the music Me: 0 LNS: 3 Here's to making it only three for all of Feb! ;)

I’m thinking of doing this more often than not, but I messed up last night and now need to account for last night’s surplus for the rest of the week. I had a moment of weakness. 😝

That’s exactly what I needed, thank you!!

Thank you! MFP is so damned encouraging, it's ridiculous. :bawling: It's so much easier since I've started engaging with the community more.

God, I SO need to keep reminding myself of this. My cravings can be truly horrendous. I should get some tests done because I've always had a cycle that's way out of whack (it could average 28 days a few months in a row, then be 40 days out of nowhere). But of course in the good ol' US of A that's pretty pricey if there's…

Awesome job!

I know everyone always says that they regret not taking measurements and before pictures at the start of their journey, and I always told myself that I would do that, but it's been 21 days of logging and I haven't done it yet. You've inspired me to take my measurements tonight and do a proper before photo. Rock on, sister!…

Mine is open. I've already sent you a request, Ashley, but for anyone else who's looking, please add me. My diary is open and I try to eat more of the vegetarian side.

For cryin' out loud, I've been doing this wrong (for me) this whole time! I would beat myself up whenever I had an off weekend day and it would be that much harder for me to recommit. But I knew there were a few times at least where had I paid attention to my weekly goal, I'd have been in good shape. Thanks for asking…

I hadn't actually watched an episode until last Thursday, and even then I only watched about 15 minutes of an episode (skipping introductions, etc). That was the push that I needed to get my stuff sorted out! I have done laundry a few times this week and have put my clothes away each time right away, instead of letting it…

That's interesting. I try to adhere to the day-to-day goals because I wasn't sure if it would work out weekly. Hmm... How much did you set MFP to lose each week? 1lb? 2lb? Awesome job!!!
-
I only have a 21-day streak, but in those days: Me: 18 LNS:3 I hadn't seen this until today, but I'm going to pay attention to the Feb post because LNS is where I fail the most. Looking forward to rocking February!

Huh. I sweat on my forehead profusely and never thought to use a headband... I'm gonna go get one. Thanks for inspiring me!

I won't even begin to pretend to know enough about medicine or science to tell you what you absolutely should and should not do. What I do know about is my personal struggle yo-yoing back and forth and having an unhealthy opinion of myself because I let my weight consume my every waking thought. That said, I have never…

Okay, so I was hoping to be much closer to Onederland than just two pounds by the new year, but I'm not stressing. I'm at 205 right now and this is the lowest I've been in the 200s since May 2018. My mini goal is to get back to Onederland by April 4th for a Healthy Wage challenge I entered, which is absolutely attainable!…

Oh my god, this is my landlady (and friend)!! I had offered to help her organize and I went by her house twice to help. She hoards these charity mailers, but I did manage to convince her to throw most of them out the last time I was there. But she is insistent on shredding her address, even though her info is out there…

I read this a few months ago, coincidentally around the same time that I also decided to get back into MFP. The holidays were hectic (what's new?), but I was making slow progress cleaning out a cupboard here, organizing my vanity there. I finally dedicated my entire Friday evening to cleaning out my x-mas tree and finding…

HOLY HECK! This is inspiring! Way to go!!!

I think that a lot of folks who have strong opinions on sugar not being the enemy may be far enough removed from that initial start to the journey of healthier eating. I am only on the 20th day of my most recent streak and had period cravings right before I started this last streak, and sugar was my #1 enemy. If it makes…

The headline is click-baity, but it seems to agree with the first article. From the "Dangers of Sugar" article: "The key to a happy and healthy body is giving your body what it needs. Replacing processed sugars with more healthful natural sources to satiate and replace physical cravings is the first step, along with…

WOW! Gosh, you're gorgeous in both pictures, but there's no denying how much more confident you come off in the after pic. Maybe my 5' 5.5" self can squeak out another .5 inches after losing weight so that I'm no longer rounding up to 5'6". If not, oh well, the loss itself will be a major victory!

Black bean tacos with corn tortillas are a staple for my lunches! So easy, low-calorie, filling, and delicious if you dress it properly. Add cotija cheese for more flavor and added protein and some pineapple salsa and you can’t go wrong! Slice up some cucumbers for a side of veggies and some crunch and you’re set. It takes…

AWESOME! Seriously! I'm at 205 and I'd love to get down to the 160s in 3 months. Not gonna happen for me, lol, but your progress is inspiring!

Sliced cucumbers for the win!
-
One of my go-to lunches is the Trader Joe's Ancient Grains Lentil Soup. It's got loads of protein and fiber, has two servings per container (so two lunches for about 4 bucks, woo!) and I'll usually pair it with sliced cucumbers drizzled with lime and sea salt. I'll add string cheese or a piece of fruit if I need to. I also…

Cashew milk! If you like creamy, sweet coffee then a few oz. of cashew milk and add sweetener as needed. I usually use almond milk because it's easier and cheaper to buy shelf stable than cashew milk is. But if I have a choice I use creamier cashew milk. Less calories, it's an interesting (in a GREAT way) flavor and can be…

I prepared smart snacks for a time when I knew I would be inebriated and would want fatty, cheesy, sugary snacks. Huzzah for prepping ahead and smart snax!
