I'm so sorry you went through that. You should be very proud of what you've accomplished and for getting back on track. I'm glad to hear you seem to be on the road to recovery. Please feel free to add me, if you'd like.

Thanks! I was all sorts of picky when I first started going to mine -- "Can fit me in, say, now? Yes? I'll be there in 10." I may be slightly impulsive (part of why I have so much weight to lose, maybe? lol). But she actually made my PIA hair look good, so I keep going back.

I was in the same boat yesterday. I managed to navigate it with grilled chicken breasts, cooked greens and fresh fruit, and I split the chicken breasts to have over two meals. However, even just half my order of chicken breasts was more than my full day's allotment of sodium, so don't be alarmed if you still see extra…

That is very true!

My biggest barrier has been that I want instant gratification. I want the weight off, but I want it off now and for some odd reason it never complies (go figure). And when that happens, I turn to my old standby -- fun food, where the gratification may be brief, but it sure is quick. Patience may be a virtue, but it's one…

JFT I will stay within my calorie goal, not go on an "It's Friday" binge, and I will exercise after work.

I only recently (last few months) started getting my hair done professionally (not gonna lie, it had been looking rough), and now I don't think I can go back to cutting it myself.

Personally, I found that the glycemic indices in what I eat has a huge impact on later carb/sweet cravings. Oatmeal and bananas are great for you, but they do have high GIs that could be contributing to your cravings. I tend to have fewer cravings (and better resolve when the cravings hit) when I pair high GI foods with…

Today I'm grateful I can feel myself getting stronger and building endurance.

JFT I wiil safely navigate my work-sponsored lunch, get my cardio in early and drink plenty of water.

Same here. I've lost 22 and still have 103 to go. Feel free to add me! :)

@FitGeekery Thanks! And you should, it's beyond addictive (fair warning though: gear envy is brutal...and the lens wish lists never end). But I love it, and I would never go back.

Congratulations! I know how exciting that must be. I was actually just checking this morning to find out how many pounds I am from overweight. 30 lbs. for me, but that actually feels achievable for the first time in a long while.

I like to chop up an entire cabbage, dump it in a pot with a lot of various chopped veggies, add 1 28 oz can of no salt added tomato sauce, 3 boxes of reduced sodium chicken broth, 4 cups of water and about 2 tablespoons of Mrs. Dash, and cook it on medium heat for about 3 hours.

The same thing happens to me sometimes. I tend to beat myself up afterwards, but lately I've tried to go into fix-it mode and try to figure out why it's happening. I finally realized my dinner binges always happened after I'd had very few calories leading up to it, so I started keeping protein snacks (cubes of cheese, meat…

Hi Emily, I'm Sara. I'm 36, also from Tennessee, and also have more than 100 lbs. to lose. I started out by doing Weight Watchers at work for 3 months, which helped me lose 20 lbs. The part that helped me more than anything, though, was the support system with the others involved. Just having someone there to say "Hey,…

Hi Kay, like you I have more than 100 lbs. to lose, and I've been struggling to come up with a reward system that doesn't include food. One idea I had for myself was set aside the money I had been spending on fast food and saving it for a large purchase I wouldn't otherwise get for myself (a nice, new elliptical or a…

JFT I will stay within my calorie goal, watch my sodium, drink plenty of water and exercise on my elliptical after work--oh yeah, and celebrate my accomplishments to date instead of thinking how far I have left to go!

Personally, when I incorporate intervals in my cardio (i.e., sprint for 1-2 minutes, walk for 3-4 minutes, and repeat for the duration), I tend to lose more from my abdominal area. Keep in mind this probably has a lot to do with individual metabolic profile, but it might be worth a shot.

Hi, I'm Sara. Stats: SW: 285.6 CW: 264.4 GW: 160 (Challenge GW=205) My weekly plan includes not so much planning specific foods as sticking to whole wheat, lean proteins, fruits and vegetables and avoiding simple sugars while keeping calories below 1500/day. I'm also exercising at least five days on the elliptical for 45…
