  • I've recently discovered soy curls and really liked them in the fajitas that I used them in.
  • So my wetsuit fits. Neoprene is so unforgiving.
  • I really like The New Rules of Lifting for Women. It's a great book with weekly lifting plans.
  • I have an 8 week rotating menu complete with shopping list so that if I'm just really not feeling it one week I can just dial it in. That being said, I have about 400 recipes saved on the app I use, so even if I use a few meals off the rotating menu, I'll work new stuff in too.
  • If you've got worms, you'll know. I picked up pinworms this last summer. Probably from travelling, but could have also been the summer camp that the kid went to.
  • I have my "weight loss belt." Essentially every 5 lbs I lose, it gets comfortable at one more slot smaller. Even when I can't see it, I know that I'm wearing it at the fourth slot instead of the third.
  • I prelog, sometimes a week or two at a time. I meal plan, so I have a pretty good idea what dinner is going to be on any given day. Lunch is going to be leftovers. I have several hundred recipes saved, so it's just a matter of adding that recipe and tweaking the specific amounts of each ingredient.
  • When you say that you don't like reheated things, is it just things from the fridge or do you not like things that have been frozen either? I ask because things like soup are easy to make in large batches and freeze in single serve sizes. Or mini-meatloafs. Most grocery stores sell flash-frozen raw chicken breasts. Those…
  • The app I use has a "Cook Now" feature that displays the recipe in a plain format. It seems to disable the timeout screen on my phone. It also has timers for cooking. Yes, you have to either wash your hands or handle it with messy hands. My favorite thing to use is actually my kid's Kindle.

  • I use an app called Pepperplate. I plan out two weeks worth of meals and it creates my shopping list for me. I even have it customized so that the aisles are in the same order as the ones in my store.
  • I did C25K last year and now I'm running 45 mins/4.5 miles a few times a week. I just wanted to pop in to say that if I can do it then you can do it. Good luck!
  • I did C25K last year and ran my first 5K in October. My goal for this year is a 10K, but I'm not using the B210K. I just slowly increased my speed to 6 mph and now I'm adding a half a mile a month to my run time. I'm up to 45 minutes/4.5 miles with my eyes on a 10K in December.
  • I live in Alabama and spend between $150 and $175 every two weeks on what I need to make my planned meals. The caveat is that I buy meat in bulk whenever possible so that's often not included in my budget. I buy boneless/skinless chicken breasts in 40lb cases every 3-4 months and there is one local grocery store that will…
  • I try to log the whole day while I'm eating breakfast. I eat basically the same thing for breakfast every day. My dinner options are listed on a white board on my kitchen door, and in a list on my phone, so I know what things I have the ingredients in the house for. So then it's just a matter of picking a dinner option and…
  • I can see why someone would do it. If I'm at a restaurant snd have fries in front of me I'll mindlessly eat them while talking to my dinner companions. It doesn't matter if I'm "full" or not. If I render the fries inedible then it prevents that problem.
  • I might have already prelogged the breakfast casserole that I will be cooking on xmas morning. Once dinner plans are finalized I'll prelog that too. I won't worry too much about going over on that day. And unlike Thanksgiving, I am not hosting so there won't be so many tempting leftovers around afterwards. I've also been…
  • Pretty much this. Then I got pregnant and ate all the things. Actually, for me a big part of it was failure to plan. I love cooking, so while we ate fast food a couple of times a month, it wasn't an every day thing. That doesn't mean that I was eating healthy home-cooked meals either. It was nothing for me to come in from…
  • I made chocolate chip cookies tonight. I baked a few and put the rest (pre portioned) in the freezer. That way I can bake a single cookie if I want it. But I really have to want it to go to the trouble of baking it.
  • We do this, but add apples to give it a little extra crunch.
  • For 70 cents a pound I might have bought a couple to put in the freezer. And I was just congratulating myself on scoring a Butterball frozen turkey for 99 cents a pound! And I think I've finalized my menu (and made shopping list and timeline for cooking....I might be a *little* obsessed): hors d'oeuvres Rosemary Spiced…
  • I just do it. I know that sounds glib, but that's the truth. I find recipes and bookmark them on my phone. I make my shopping list from that, categorizing each item by department/location at the store, which makes shopping faster. While at the store, I also grab anything that's on sale that I would normally buy. Especially…
  • Turkey meatloaf. Mix in sauteed onions and green peppers. Use stovetop stuffing mix in the place of breadcrumbs. Top with cranberry sauce instead of ketchup. It's like Thanksgiving dinner in loaf form.
  • Yum! I love banana pancakes. I don't put the oats in it though. Just a banana, an egg, and some egg white from the carton. I do occasionally make a more "traditional" protein pancake with oats, egg whites, and cottage cheese.
  • I have a playlist I've been listening to. A lot of Five Finger Death Punch and Slipknot and Seether.
  • We prefer brown rice to white rice.
  • I'm guessing that the NDA wasn't disclosed upfront and arrived in the shipment with the product.
  • For those of you who like the canned cranberry sauce: During the rest of the year, if I start craving Thanksgiving type foods, I'll make meatloaf out of ground turkey, bell peppers, onions, and Stovetop cornbread stuffing mix. Then top the whole thing with half a can of cranberry sauce. It's awesome. My husband will eat…
  • OMG...I didn't think it was possible to combine two of my most favorite foods, but I think you managed it. Yum!
  • @queenliz99, come on over. I'm already cooking for 15 (plus my friends who always stop by for leftovers after their own family dinners), a few more won't make a difference. ;)
