I can relate to most of what sirrius said, but my wake up call was a severe angina attack back in August last year and the ambulance men could not lift me. I started a 1500 calories diet the day I was discharged

I can bend down to do my shoe laces. Sounds dumb, I know,but my stomach was hanging out too much that it was painful to bend down

Drink water. Eat dark chocolate If craving is at night, go to bed early

I have switched to dark chocolate. 1 or 2 cubes of a Lyndtt 70% chocolate satisfies my cravings and I calculate it as part of my daily calories

Funny you mention selfish as that is what my wife called me today because I prioritised gym over unnecessary house chores. I made a healthy meal for all which was rejected and she ended up making scrambled eggs and complained I was selfish cooking just for me. After reading your reply - I don't care anymore. Thanks and yes this community is extremely supportive And yes I am doing it for me and plan to treat myself with a new expensive wardrobe when i hit target weight The sad part is that my wife sees me as a pain making healthy meals

I would prefer to exercise as I have a big appetite that I am struggling to control, so by cycling/walking and burning the extra calories gives me the ability to eat more. Running 30 minutes and still being able to hold a conversation will be s great feeling. As for today I started with a 2 mile brisk walk just to do Something physical
