It is very true that many in the medical profession are not taking care of themselves. Do as I say, not as I do... One doc in 2000 recommended to me to eat "more like cavemen did", which I personally feel is sound advice. Avoid process foods, bread, pasta etc., eat meat, veg. He was obese! He says, while rubbing his…

I am about to start making my own biltong (South African dried/cured meat).

I have had it open on my computer. I am capable of reading both sides of the debate. I find both good reads. Crazy concept, I know. edited to remove a tad bit of snarkiness :#

I didn't make that claim in my post, but some NHANES trend analysis suggest it is greater than in the 1970s. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4598942/pdf/nihms721969.pdf

And the same day, same journal https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullarticle/2686146 Both are essentially mini-reviews. A good read.

Those graphs were created by Stephan Guyenet (http://wholehealthsource.blogspot.com/2015/11/carbohydrate-sugar-and-obesity-in.html). Many issues with the graphs themselves which gives the illusion of a greater trend. Looking at the graphs though, the participants self-reported (notoriously inaccurate) roughly 508 grams of…

Wait. Woo is "bad" or "negative" or that you disagree? I am in the same boat. I've clicked when I was very happy to see the comment made. Woops.

Simply salt and pepper the salmon, pan cook skin side down for most of the time, flip. Don't overcook. Should still have some glistening in middle. Remove from pan, add garlic. Then add baby spinach and dash of salt. Cook until wilted as you like.

I have had borderline high cholesterol since age 18 (200-260 range). I can assure you, when I eat carbohydrates and fast-food, that is when I have the higher levels. Every time I have eaten low carb for the few months before bloodwork, my cholesterol is 150, with LDL, HDL, and triglycerides all in excellent range!

Undiagnosed gallbladder disease can sneak up on someone after they have lost a lot of weight in a short period of time. The gallbladder doesn't handle it well. Put that on top of a greasy meal (pizza yum) and you are left running to the toilet (gallbladder released all the bile at once-induces diarrhea). Are you having (or…

Do you like shrimp? Excellent protein:calorie ratio!

Uhm, no. Just no.

Dry roasted edamame (wasabi is like wasabi peas). Seapoint farms brand is good... Or just edamame... Gone off meat? Sounds awful lol. If you consider incorporating meat again, shrimp has a really great protein/calorie ratio.
