High Protein, lowish calories on the run?

I'm looking for some good high protein snacks that I can throw into a purse or bookbag for work and school, when I don't have access to a fridge or microwave.

With these heat, even cheese sticks get kind of funky and I'm looking for options outside of protein bars or granola bars that I may not have thought of. Thinking of making some roasted chickpeas over the weekend and seeing how I like those.

Beef jerky? Pretty salty but if you don't mind that it'd work.

Yeah, beef jerky and protein bars, that's pretty much it.

Have you made roasted chickpeas before? I tried and they were good when hot, but when cool they turned soft. I wondered if that happens all the time?

What about almonds? They would travel well.

You could make your own protein balls. If you search on You Tube there's loads of recipes for them that includes no cooking or baking.

I'd get an insulated lunch bag and a refreezable ice pack thing. That would give you many more options.

Hardboiled eggs can certainly go for a while without refrigeration. I like them with roasted salted almonds.

I'd probably look into some insulated container that you can put into your bag - that would open a lot of options like chicken, greek yogurt, low fat cheese, etc.

Otherwise, I'd look into the P28 bagels and peanut butter. Expensive, but very good. Not exactly low cal though. Also, PB2 would be an option.

I know you said no protein bars, but I found some great ones that travel well. B-Up bars. One of my favorites right now for a low cal protein snack. THe only problem is they are hard to find and expensive-ish.

Pork rinds. Great protein and fats, little high on sodium, but great satiety.

Do a search on "protein quality of pork rinds".
