Ignore the 'shoulds' and embrace the "look what I'm doings - it's an improvement - so s&%k it shoulders!"

Thanks for this. Any idea what calorie count is if you eat every bit of it?

Brilliant. If it's so so and its not on my plate, I won't eat it, because everyone else is just sitting there, eating....

I'm still debating whether or not I want to run. After doing it for about 5 days out of 9, I'm heading out now for another try. My right leg feels so STIFF behind the knee. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. Not sure how far I'm running - going super slow - 10-20 mins at a time. Wish me luck!

Can someone please explain the D part of Week X Day X? I'm on my seventh day of Week 1 since starting with MFP - and I've run 4 of the 7 days, including just now. P.S. I love seeing sweat on my body - it's so shiny!

That's good advice, Mangrothian. I did take yesterday off from running, and only went 15 minutes today, after walking for 10 minutes first. And real, real slow. As Moyer said, being fat is bad for my body too, and the 15 min of running burns calories so I can eat and still not gain weight.

I always try and find the info on calories for the finished product. That's what you're eating after all. I eat a lot of airpopped popcorn, and I measure it after it's cooked. A cup of kernels will equal lot's more than a cup of cooked popcorn. Chicken, after cooking will shrink in size and probably weight as well.…

Didn't run yesterday. Stiff, tight legs and pain under right knee. A well meaning friend told me, "don't run, it's bad for your body..."

The 7 E's* - Exercise Early, Eat Early, End Eating Early. (start day with exercise, eat light breakfast early, go to bed early so you don't eat late at night) *I've only been doing this for 2.5 days, so take my recommendations with a big fat grain of salt... But so far, I'm noticing a decrease in appetite - so, I think…

Thanks Taeliesyn - I've been starting with about 2-3 minutes of walking, although not brisk. The only stretch I know how to do is the calf stretch, where you lean against a pole/wall and put one leg back then lower foot slowly. Today was so cool - I had planned to go another 20 yards past yesterday's location, but I wasn't…

Worthlessness bites, so does low-self esteem. I find that I'm plagued by such feelings whenever I focus on 'how I compare to others.' Damn, I not as pretty, not as successful, not as talented, not as well liked, not as funny, not as fierce, not as intelligent, not as capable, to infinity and beyond. But when I stop…

46 years old. 215 pounds. Goal <200 by Christmas. Ultimately 165?

I wish I was as lean and muscled as the cat in my pic... but, for now - I'm just hoping to build some strength and lean down a bit. I'm 46 and 215 pounds, goal weight - under 200 by Christmas. (then, we'll see.) - I'm a writer of fiction so I sit for a living. - would love some friends... I'm blogging about my progress…
