Good luck on your journey! Its human to have slip ups or periods of laziness. I have found that mixing up how I get my exercise, and not making any food off limits, has helped me maintain an acceptable weight. Luckily MFP is a supportive place with a lot of answers.

Wow, thanks! This is way better than anything I've received from my current trainers.
-
Thank you guys so much, I'm so lost right now. I guess I was doing better on my own by lifting and going for runs 5 times a week.

My original thought was that my endurance would improve, thus helping me with running, push ups, and the like. If I incorporate those exercises (push ups, situps, running, etc.) into my workout, won't that help me?

They just measure body fat and "TEE," or how many calories I supposedly need. I guess my new question would be how much should I eat if I want to gain muscle and still exercise frequently. I really got myself into a mess by joining a 6 week challenge. They're having me focus on losing the fat rather than getting stronger.

Had a bod pod measurement at a medical facility

So work on strength, then burn off the fat? I want to become a police officer, so strength is kinda important to me. I suppose that makes sense. I was thinking that losing fat and doing some resistance exercises would help me get stronger automatically.
-
By HIIT I mean switching it up with planks, running, weight lifting, lunges, core work, just a little bit of everything. Does that make sense? I think recomp is what I want...so it sounds like I should be eating more like 1200 calories and cut back on cardio, while increasing weight lifting?
-
No one can help? I mainly want to know if such a deficit combined with HIIT will HELP me lose body fat, or if I am starving my body and doing the OPPOSITE.
-
Protein supplement like Sunwarrior mixed with water!
-
You need both cardio and strength training! So, it sounds like you're doing well. Look up some HIIT exercises for a full body workout...at least that is what I do.

I should have trusted my instincts but I got scammed. Apparently they are not BBB accredited. I'm going to take a pregnancy test tonight and try other foods to see if my nausea goes away.
-
Wow, that sucks. I guess I learned a $500 lesson. Ugh. Well, I am going to eat my version of healthy and keep going to the workouts, so at least I am getting something for my money. Maybe I can lose it on my own, who knows. Thank you for this information.
-
Thank you so much. I actually was training on my own and running, I guess I was just eating too much crap. Maybe I am better off without them.
-
I just thought he challenge would help me with training to be a cop. I thought I could challenge myself, lose fat, and get stronger with restrictions and accountability through a challenge. I may end up throwing thhe challenge if I don't feel better soon. I really appreciate everyone's input, I am glad I'm not the only one…

Bod pod measurement at a medical clinic.

Guess I will have to try foods outside the meal plan and pray I lose six percent body fat
-
Sorry, forgot to mention I am only 5' tall. But 29% body fat can certainly be reduced without it being unhealthy.
-
Yep, I'm doing a transformation challenge. So, I feel like a loser if I can't keep up with other challengers, even though I am only 112 lbs and I lost 20 lbs on my own last year.
-
Surprisingly I can tolerate the protein powder mixed with water, its Sun Warrior brand. I don't like the main trainer, but that person was a part of the package. Everyone else has been supportive and encouraging. I just have to keep acting polite until the challenge is over and I get my deposit back...
-
Not sure what that is, but I know there are similar challenges around the country.
-
$500. I was thinking that if this doesn't get easier, I will eat things that I know are healthy, regardless of whether they are in the meal plan, and continue to exercise.
-
I would but I am in a contract and I only get my deposit back by losing the body fat...I know, not the smartest move. But I seriously do want to lose it...I just wish I knew ahead of time that they would be this strict.
-
I don't think I can revel the meal plan, but there is a list of under twenty items that are approved on the meal plan. And I am to eat every 2.5-3 hours to keep my metabolism going.
-
Thanks, everyone. I am at 29% body fat, so my goal is to get to 23%, so I want to get lean and gain some muscle. I am taking protein powder twice a day and trying to aim for a good ratio of protein, carbs, and veggies each day. It is certainly a challenge, but it has been particularly hard for me because I eat food for…

I'm looking for a vegan buddy! Congrats on the lifestyle change (:
