Which exercise is best for weight loss? I do a mixture of cardio / high impact one day and weights only another. I always feel that I've worked harder doing cardio but my Fitbit tells me that I burn more fat doing weights.
Which is best for weight loss ?

Neither. A calorie deficit is what you need for weight loss.
That doesn't mean stop exercising. Cardio is great for heart health, and lifting weights will help you retain as much muscle as possible while you lose.3 -
You burn fat when you're in a deficiency of energy...the exercise itself isn't burning net fat..your calorie deficit is. Come at it from a fitness perspective...they are both important for your general fitness as well as your overall health and well being...some increased energy expenditure is a nice bi-product...but as someone who cycles and lifts regularly and am in maintenance, it comes down to the calories coming in.
The best exercise is going to be what you enjoy doing and will stick to and be consistent with long term. Doing something you don't particularly like isn't going to garner much in terms of long term results.1 -
Do whatever you enjoy the most, that helps you create a caloric deficit. There isn't an exercise that "burns more fat" than another. Weight bearing (baring?) exercises will help you retain more muscle mass, which will help you achieve a more "desired" aesthetic. And it's good for your bones.1

The quick response is none. You don't need exercise for weight loss, but it is good to get in cardio for overall health.
Depending on your weight/current activity level, walking is ideal as it is not very stressful on the joints, and gets cardio exercise. Beyond that, it's whatever you like to do and keeps you interested. For awhile I was doing some of the biggest loser videos, sometimes it was hand weights, and other times cardio videos and/or a little (light) strength videos on the internet.1 -
You need both cardio and strength training! So, it sounds like you're doing well. Look up some HIIT exercises for a full body workout...at least that is what I do.1

The best exercise is the one you'll do. Exercise for health - calorie deficit for weight loss.1

Thanks for the replies. I am eating a calorie deficit and gave list 10lbs since early 10 January. I am doing cardio and high impact workouts as well as weights. It's just psychologically I always feel I'm doing more good when doing the full workout rather than weights. I will continue with both as I'm enjoying both.0

Bearing.
Weight baring exercise would be jogging while holding your shirt up so the whole world can see your jiggle.1 -
The best exercise is the one you do, but since excess weight put more strain on the joints it seems like exercises like swimming and cycling that put less strain on the joints are better for weight loss. As a person nears their goal they might consider taking up other activities.0
