You have a good 7 months to train - look up Hal Higdon plans as an example. Two shorter runs during the week with longer on Sat or Sunday 3 cross training days and rest day
-
Dress for 20° warmer than the starting temp. After 1 mile, you will be warmer. Best winter gear is wool socks - even running in snow, my feet are toasty.

Cross trainers. No running shoes!!!

I just play music through my phone on speaker while it’s in my armband. They take some getting used to, but I can hear everything

The above pic was helpful for me. It takes some trial and error. Best items are a buff or other light item I could pull up for the beginning part of the run when I am cold and not used to breathing in the air. It's also helpful to pull up to my cheeks when the wind is in my face. Wool socks! As others stated, visibility is…

I am in! I need the motivation. I am a novice and run/walk with a 5k pace of 11:45 I have lost ~80 lbs in the past two years and started running about a year ago. Knee injury came and went a few times in the past 9 months and I just had my 2nd orthovisk shot. My last injection is next week and hope I am feeling decent…

Don't worry as much on eating. It's more important to be well hydrated to "float" your veins.

I have struggled with being too warm in the winter. I have yack tracks that I will use when needed. What stops me the most is windchill. Below 20 is my limit.

About 2-3 times longer than it took you to put it on

I'd like to join!

I get up at 4:30 and am on a run by 5:15. It's actually more humid at that time of day, but the temp is the lowest and no sun beating my dome. I have also heard that staying with slow summer running will bring better fall results.

I am not a traditional runner. I have lost about 80lbs and started running last year. August 2016 I couldn't go 20 seconds without stopping. Last week I finally made it one mile without walking. I try to run 3 times a week. Some weeks only twice and two days a week short strength training. I am super slow and still huffing…

It may be easier to start out on your forearm to get the right form

If you don't weigh/measure and log your food, you can't make an assessment. If your not measuring, you will be greatly surprised. Calories in, calories out.

I get up at 4:45 and am running by 5:15 on Tuesday and Thursday. This time of year I see some pretty sunrises. I also run on Saturday or Sunday, I have to get out by 7 before the sun gets too high and hot. Happy Running

It's a great workout and love that it's 30 min or less. Friday Night is brutal

P90 is a good option for a beginner. You may not need to do A for 30 days and can move onto B faster. It is definitely not as intense as P90x and each is around 30 min.

Eating at a deficit is the big item. The pool is your best option for exercise. Next is a bike. Walking is an overall great exercise. If you don't have access or want to do stuff outside of your house, there are walking videos by Leslie Sandsone and Kendra Kemmerle. I was over 300 and now 195ish and running. Take your…

I am happy to read about those that have been able to run after an injury. I had a lot of pain that had me limping. I was diagnosed after MRI with synovial cysts. MRI also showed a lot of cartilage damage, but did not suggest to stop running. Cortizone shots done and I am considering synvisk shots. After a month off…

I did P90. Part A should be easily done. Intensity moves up in B and again in C

Do you really need button down tailored shirts? Just wear knits / sweaters and jazz it up with a necklace. Forever 21 is not geared to professional office attire. Switch to Ann Taylor for work clothes for a mall type chain.

I started in a similar situation. I was 275, but started running around 240. I could only go maybe 20 seconds before having to stop, now I can go just over a mile and am 195ish Don't let anyone tell you "you can't". Go slower than you think when people say go slow. I suggest you run outside. It's much easier to slow down…

Thanks everybody! The only advice I won't take is no bra :-)

This is for the factory/outlets. I got some good stuff today!

If yo have cable, there are fitness videos on demand. Search for walking. They usually rotate between Leslie and Kendra. Great in home low impact exercise. Resistance bands are very cheap. Push ups, squats and planks are free. Google ways to do them for overweight if you dont feel ready to go all out. On Facebook follow…

Just wear compression capris. I do well with Old Navy and C9 line from Target. No reason to spend a ton. I have a bunch from UA, but I have an outlet close by to get some good deals.

I am F42 5'9 195lbs. My resting is usually 58-62 while at my desk working. I get to avg 165/8 when running

People way bigger than you are running marathons. There is no magic number. Go for it! Be sure to have on proper shoes warm up well and do a proper cool down stretch.
-
Like the others have stated: you need to be able to walk at a decent pace for over an hour before you try to jog/run. Please be sure you get fitted for the proper shoes. Shin splints and other injuries need to be avoided. Stretching! Yoga! Be sure your back and legs are good and stretched after the activity. A little cat…
