Hey all! It's been a -long- time since I've been on MFP so most of my previous friends are inactive now. Looking for a fresh batch of positive minded folks to share my new journey with! feel free to add me :) I'm a Canadian Female in my 30s if that matters to anyone haha

@kyubeans The purpose of a refeed is to encourage some metabolic upregulation. When you consume a deficit of calories consistently for a long time, your body knows it will die if it keeps allowing you to waste away. It starts shutting down non-essential processes like heat production and sex organs (which is why we tend to…

Wait what? Antibiotics?? Can you explain? I only ask because all my bras are definitely way too big now, but I don't even wear one unless I'm going to the gym or work (my boobs basically disappeared entirely with weight loss lol) Is this only an issue for larger chested women?

Sammmee, I tried using my diva cup for about 8 months because everyone said it has a learning curve and that I would love it eventually. but it always felt super uncomfortable and leaked no matter how I positioned it or what I did. It's not for everyone I guess :/

Shark week! lolll but yeah, I get super bad PMS cravings now too, and they're always so specific. Like "I need lindtt salted caramel chocolate balls immediately" haha
-
I have always had really bad cramps (like really really bad), but I find if my period comes early, the pain isn't near as bad and I don't spend as much time in "PMS mode" (bloating, cravings, mood swings, etc.). If my period comes late though, good lord there's hell to pay. My cramps are sooo much worse, and I spend almost…

Same! Pants used to be too baggy in the legs and too tight at the waist, now it's the opposite. Pants will fit loosely around the waist, yet too tight around my legs/glutes. #struggle

I agree with @Loomisj72 a refeed week might be just what you need. Refeeding has been what gets me out of every plateau I've had. When you spend a lot of time on a deficit your metabolism starts to slow down to compensate (it wants to prevent you from losing too much because it thinks you're in hard times). It's a little…

@HappyCampr1 I was thinking the same thing lol. I enjoy my workouts a lot and I never have have to force myself to do it, but I also really like my rest days, I don't get antsy or restless at all haha.

Omg the swolly bible! Loll I love broscience! Also great job on activating beast mode!

As a footnote to this thread (kinesiologist here). I don't know if this has been said yet, but people often feel cold during and after weight loss mostly due to metabolic changes and adaptations. Your body doesn't like the idea of being on a long term calorie deficit, or a deficit that's too extreme, so it compensates by…

literally the most beautiful family I've ever seen! Congrats!

@filbo132 Great job! I know how difficult it is to put on mass, so congrats! You're a BABE!

Post leg workout selfie! #absolutelynecessary #feelontopoftheworld

@Tay617 you should check out a few great youtubers for female strength training. A few of my favorites are Heidi Somers, Jen Heward, Meg Squats, Nikki Blackketter, Jazmine Garcia and Robin Gallant! @CherryBerry0611 I personally don't do steady state cardio. I used to run, but I found it kind of boring after a while. So now…

@groovy_chic47 yeah deadlifts took me a while to feel comfortable with haha, so I understand completely
-
@groovy_chic47 nice! I personally LOVE anything that involves back/pulling (deadlifts, pullups, rows, etc.). I also really enjoy squatting  What about you?

Halifax, NS! :) Any haligonians out there feel free to add me!

I usually gain 5 to 8 pounds the day before my period and it stays there for about 4 or 5 days then drops right back off again. I only log my weight once a month immediately after my period (at my lightest) that way I only see a downward trend ha. The fluctuations drive me bananas otherwise
-
@pdavisarp836 Daaanng, look at those shoulder caps! Good job on your progress!
-
@AubreyWestwood Some people don't notice things like this (myself included). My Dad lost almost 60 pounds before I actually noticed he had lost weight (terrible I know, but it's just not something I look at in the people I love) And sometimes people may notice but not comment on it because they're uncomfortable doing so. I…

So funny, it turns out I'm 5.6% LARGER than I thought I was  Whenever I lose half a pound I look in the mirror and think "Oh! I'm so skinny now!" even though it literally makes no difference, haha NOT quite yet. I just love progress! no matter how small!
-
@KareninLux This. So much this. I'm in zero rush to change my body or reach my goal. I have so much patience and understanding for myself. I've learned so much about self acceptance on this journey, glad you have too!
-
@debou5 I'm doing really well thanks! Re-feed days are so unbelievably enjoyable haha, like 4000 Kcal minimum of delicious food  I'm doing re-feeds about once a week now (when I start to have cold hands) and it seems to be working well for me! I've actually lost 8 pounds so far using this method of eating and I…

Haha I have this issue too! Everyone keeps saying their brain isn't catching up, but mine's well ahead! I'm like "oh man I'm so thin now, I'm doing so great! I bet I'm a size 7!" *can't get a 7 up past my thighs* lolol I'm not in any rush though, just taking my time with it, enjoying the journey. I'm super duper happy with…

Anyone feel free to add me! :) I'm always here to support and give encouragement!
