If your labs came back OK then your sodium level is not too low.

That is a ridiculous statement many people blow up after having a thyroidectomy or RAI. You can go into a coma from not enough thyroid hormone and you are saying it doesn't impact weight "that" much?
-
Doctors will often only check TSH and that doesn't show the full picture. They may need T3 medication before they can lose weight. Also the UK has a much higher TSH range of what is considered normal.

Grapefruit and thyroid meds do not mix!

I third that, you can always ask (aka demand) for 5 mcg of Cytomel to start out with, see if that helps.

I'm so sorry for your loss and all you are going through. :( Tell the nurse you do not want to know your weight and turn around. They should respect that! You "weigh in" when you are ready not because of a dr appointment. Tell the dr you do not want your weight discussed.

Do you have advice for someone who wants to stay away from grains and soy? IT seems like most vegan diet plans have tons of grains and soy. I know it's possible but I have little meal planning creativity. I would love to be vegan or plant based most of the time. I'm not willing to give up my wool scarves though. :)

Fresh Italian bread with butter. It was a huge push towards my over eating last week!

I attended two pilates classes two weeks ago and loved them because it's a sitting down routine. One was on a mat the other with a mat and ball. I did about one partial movement for every 15 they do but hey I'm moving. Last night I picked up a Windsor Pilates set at the thrift store. I searched online for info about it and…

Brings back memories! Back in the day I built two step things for the FIRM workouts. A guy from work followed me home and used his electric drill and carpet stapler. I had two pieces of carpet remnant to put on them. I used them some but then developed health problems. My cat LOVED those steps things! What an ab workout…

Hi! I'm new to the thread! I have 150 pounds to lose. I've been sticking around 290 for over a year so my big goal 10% loss is 260. Activity is very limited I cannot walk that far or do much. I have done some arm chair exercises on my bed, so I'd like to keep doing those, please encourage me. :) Plan is to follow an…

So sorry! I went to the YMCA once for a session with a PT. I told him I only wanted to do no weights or free weights. (I was 100 pounds overweight at that time, had severe hypothyroidism, hbp, and was sedentary.) He kept pressuring me non stop to use the machines. I couldn't work at all for 3 days (my wrists were on fire…

I used to like side salads from Wendy's or McDonalds but in recent years they all seem to have a bleach flavor to me. Wendy's has a plain baked potato and chili. At McDonald's you can buy an egg sandwich all day now. I don't care for their grilled chicken. At a tiny gas station I would go for seeds or nuts and pretzels.…

What a wonderful community! Thank you for all of the advice! I'm going to copy down the recipe ideas like the taco chicken! I need to have it cooked before because I do not have the energy to cook or stir fry and then clean up after being out. Even a crock pot takes too much effort to clean up. I can put together a salad…

Last year I ate 2 yogurts right before dinner, it really helped. I skipped the whole give me food right now like I get usual waiting until mid-afternoon to eat. I love stuffing and sweet potato casserole so I plan to get a good portion of those and no rolls or other carby stuff. Enjoy the food & fellowship! Happy…

Ask the food bank for cereal without sugar (cheerios or plain shredded wheat), canned produce, and unsweetened applesauce. YMMV some may accommodate dietary needs others may not. Volunteers also vary, some will applaud you for trying to eat healthy and others will act like they are The Great One and you should grovel then…

Sometimes I sit on my bed and just "do the arms" for a Richard Simmons DVD or youtube workouts.

If I were in your shoes I would stick with what you were doing on Points Plus until you get to goal. Seven Pounds yay you can do this!

I wish the local Y had the same attitude towards free weights. They trainers refuse to help people with free weights.
-
Or they blame what you are eating on being hungry all the time...

If you are taking anti-thyroid medicine that will slow down you thyroid it could be why you are having trouble losing. I would add to the advice to save your sanity stay away from weighing more than once a month. Keep your goal on eating healthy and moving. When I joined WW I told them I did not want to know my weight.…

I know seriously who can eat 2000 cal of vegetables!

This is silly, when you see autoimmune disease and hyperthyroidism you should think Grave's not Hashimoto's.
-
Grave's disease is an autoimmune disease causes hyperthyroidism... To the OP I would try to include toning and light resistance hyperthyroidism can cause muscle atrophy. Be careful with cardio if you are hyperthyroid you may already have a fast pulse. I don't know if you are being treated with a beta block already but if…

I've had doctors tell me that 1200 may be too much for me to eat 800. Remember the first rule with anything related to health is CYA. I think you hit the nail on the head in your title!
