Wait wait wait wait. Wait. Hypocrites? Serious question: how are they hypocrites? I honestly don't know, so please tell me. I'm not a fan of them, either, because they scare people away and have a bad reputation, but they are iron-willed and i respect that.
In 2014, the group euthanized 2,454 of its 3,369 cats, dogs and other animals, the vast majority of which were “owner surrenders,” meaning that they’d been relinquished to the group voluntarily. Just 23 dogs and 16 cats were adopted. In 2015, they received 1,974 animals and euthanized 73.76% of them. So, cows and pigs are worth getting naked for but actually making the effort to adopt out dogs and cats is just too much. This isn't a new phenomenon either, the numbers go back to 1999.

I would rather die than eat another creatures body. I also feel strongly that I should never push this point of view on others, but I'm always willing to share my philosophy of compassion for life.

Do you have advice for someone who wants to stay away from grains and soy? IT seems like most vegan diet plans have tons of grains and soy. I know it's possible but I have little meal planning creativity. I would love to be vegan or plant based most of the time. I'm not willing to give up my wool scarves though.0

Okay, I get that. And that's a good life theory in general- not to make others suffer. But then how are you okay with the human suffering that occurs on farms? Migrant workers work long hours, live in sub-sub-sub standard housing, often are forced to drop out of school because their families move around depending on what is in season to pick, and are paid far less than minimum wage.
And no, not all farmers treat their workers like crap, but many do. Farming is exempt from many labor laws (children as young as 8 can work on a farm) so if the owner doesn't want o be decent, he doesn't have to be decent.0 -

Can I ask why you want to stay away from grains? Soy is understandable and it's fairly easy if you don't eat a ton of processed vegan food. Vegan diets really rely on grains to get the nutrients we need, so I'm not the best person to offer advice for people who want to avoid grains. I recommend researching specific blogs and articles about it. Oh, and you should look up the wool industry as well...it's not pretty.0 -

Do you have to take b12 supplements? How do you add more calories to meals without eating beans all the time?
No supplements whatsoever. I don't have to worry about calories, really, because I eat so much fruit that it all adds up eventually. I think the last time I ate beans was two months ago...and I usually go over 2,000 calories. Sometimes 2800 depending on the day.
Just make sure you have plenty of food on your plate. Eat until your satisfied. Dried fruit, fruit, breads, condiments, cereals, "milks"...0 -

If you're not eating beans regularly, how are you sure you're getting adequate protein?? Lots of soy? Do you have a protein goal, and do you track on here? I ate mostly vegetarian for about a year while I was living with my ex and meeting my daily protein goal was a huge battle. Admittedly, I have fewer calories to play with... Going over 2000 daily would have me gaining significantly.0 -

I get between 40-70 grams of protein a day depending on what I eat. I don't think about how much protein I'm getting, I just eat what I want. So, I'm doing okay, I think.0 -
