  • Feeling good to start the month so I'll bump up from 80 last month to 90 this month. Time was a bit of a struggle in September working full time and taking some classes. I think I've found some balance though and hope to have a great October and November before the bitter cold sets in. 1. Other than heading home for…
  • Thank you @PastorVincent and @scott6255
  • Finished with my first ever half yesterday. Not an official race, just down lake Michigan and back. It had been a goal of mine this year and it feels great to get it done. 13.1 on the 30th gives me 82.4 of 80.
  • 5 miles today and now 69.7 out of 80 for the month. Beautiful 66F weather helped me set some personal best marks. Fastest mile, fastest 5K, and a few sector times. Hoping to close the week out with one long slow run to hit my goal.
  • 6.2 today in Misty 70 degree weather. Very pleasant. First time ever doing 6+ miles back to back. Feels good to get some relatively longer runs in on a regular basis. 64.7 of 80
  • 6.3 today. Made a mistake and ran down a stretch of road with seemingly endless brunch patrons loafing around. Lesson learned. Minor illness seems to have passed, so that's nice. 58.3 of 80.
  • 6.7 today. I waited until late but the temps lingered near 90. Had to stop a few times and walk as I think I went out too fast for the heat/humidity/dew point. Looking forward to cooler temps. 52 of 80 for the month
  • 3.2 miles today. Much shorter than planned. Been under the weather the last week and just don't have the energy or desire to finish what I start. 45.2 of 80
  • Hey people. Joined a couple years back but never really got entrenched in the community. I'm hoping to be more active this time around in an effort to keep me motivated, informed, and to simply share the love of running with like minded folks. Running for me has been a huge help to me in dealing with life stresses, and the…
  • Good day, fellow runners. My name is Kevin. I live in Chicago. I joined this group a couple years back when I first started running. Although I wasn't too active at the time, I must say the people that I've followed on Strava over the last couple years because of this group have been a big inspiration to me as I go through…
  • Another short run today to put me at 6.4 miles for the month. Legs felt just awful after various activities (running, cycling, p90x) but seem to be coming around to the increased workload. Hoping to get out tomorrow after work but the wind is going to be howling so we'll see what happens. Hope everyone is having a great…
  • A simple 2.1 miles today. Woke up to IT Bands that were screaming at me. It's amazing what two miles after two months of not running can do to your body. Not upset at all about the low mileage but I'm looking forward to a few weeks from now when I'm back to building towards double digits. @kristinegift Great picture! I…
  • I finally ran (I don't post much here. Got hit by a car two months ago today and broke my collarbone and couple ribs) so I feel like I can post in here again haha. Been feeling well enough to run for a few weeks but I couldn't muster the ooomph to get out and do it. I've been on the bike, but running is just harder for me…
  • I joked in the March thread that my goal is 1 mile for this month. It still is. That said, I'm really hoping to get back out there and put in some decent miles during the latter half of April. I've put in 120 miles on the bike (in my apartment) and have started doing some leg and core work to go with my PT. I think I'll…
  • Great job everyone. If you didn't reach your goal, April is your month! @Elise4270 I'm over the injury depression! Buying some new running gear to keep me going while I wait. @ddmom0811 Thanks! Glad to be back. @shanaber The car didn't have a scratch on it. @rohanivan Thanks! @orphia Most of the pain is gone. I have some…
  • @Stoshew71 Thank you! Feels good to start feeling better. @Elise4270 Thank you as well. Sorry for not checking in earlier with an update. Was limited in keyboard use and honestly a little depressed. @WhatMeRunning Thank you! The best news of all is I'm alive and only broke my clavicle. Very thankful.
  • 1500 unread haha Hello everyone. Hope you all have had a productive and healthy March. Finish strong! A few of you may know from the Strava group feed that I went head first over the hood of a car three weeks ago while out on a long bike ride. The road rash has finally healed. The broken clavicle is on the mend. My bike…
  • @ddmom0811 Thanks for the info. It's funny you mention the different muscles because I experienced that tonight. Had to head into work for a bit and the legs felt fine on the bike. They actually felt loosened up afterwards compared to how they were feeling before I rode in. Hoping to get out early tomorrow before the winds…
  • @ceciliaslater Hope the tear is miniscule and you can continue to get stronger. Best wishes! 15-20 mph winds and some rain at the end made for an interesting run. Almost got t-boned by a car coming out of an alley. City running... Other than that I'm really happy with how it went. My goal was to go easyish because my legs…
  • 23 miles last week (including Feb 29th) is my new weekly high. With the temps here in Chicago looking to be in the 50's for the foreseaeable future I'm hoping to increase that gradually the rest of the month. One thing that has me worried about meeting my goal this month and in future months is cycling. I was planning to…
  • Great job @Stoshew71 and @_nikkiwolf_ I'm enjoying seeing all your runs pop up in my strava feed. You people posting big miles are going to inspire me to move past these 5 milers. Must have patience though, still only three months into this running addiction. Keep up the great work, people.
  • @Orphia Awesome job.
  • @shilshilshil Great job. I recently achieved that goal myself. Felt so good to do something I thought was out of my depth. Keep it up!
  • @rohanivan Here is a Strava help link that may prove useful. https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216942337-How-to-upload-to-Strava-from-your-Windows-Phone
  • This Strava group is exploding! Love it. Looking forward to stalking all your runs. Haha
  • A little slippery on the path today but it's better than a f'n treadmill. Still not confident running on slushy snow so I had to slow to a walk in a few questionable spots. Other than that it was a good run. Pizza for lunch. 3-1: nothing 3-2: 5 miles 3-3: 5 miles
  • @Stoshew71 and Chris Baker, thanks for the folllow. I like the idea of a monthly running challenge group on Strava. I enjoy popping in here to read through the banter but a nicely organized Strava group with loads of quality info would make it that much better.
  • Thanks. Followed you back. Bought these shoes late last year for running without taking into consideration fit for my running style. Luckily they seem to be in-tune with my body. Looking forward to getting 200 miles on them so I can go splurge on something new though.
  • @ceciliaslater Thanks. Followed back. Best wishes with the leg today. @WhatMeRunning Please do and thanks.
  • Found an hour in the middle of a long day at work to get some miles in. Going to try and stick with 5 milers as my minimum distance as I try to ramp my monthly goals into the 100+ range. Can some of you Strava users please add me on there (Kevin Kirkbride - 471266)? I need some people to follow, admire, motivate me, etc.…
