I started September 11, and am in week 4 of 7.5. I've lost 15-16 pounds thus far at an even, steady rate. I think I'd like to stay at 7.5 mg for another month before moving to 10 mg, as I'm just now feeling like I'm adjusted to the 7.5. There's been more nausea and heartburn this month and it's just now leveling out.

I lost 35 pounds in 2016 by weighing and logging my food carefully, and walking about 10,000 steps daily. I did not start drifting up until late 2017--my birthday is in December, so I took that month "off" meaning I ate whatever I wanted. And I love Christmas cookies and candy. And we went out to eat a LOT. It's hard to…

I have the same problem. Road trips=Cheetos puffs for me. And rolls of sweettarts. Or gummy bears. Last week I had a 6 hour road trip, both ways. I kept things down pretty well, but it was a struggle!

JFT (M): 1. Minimum 45 minutes between bike and elliptical 2. Log everything 3. Make the phone calls I've been putting off 4. Pantry 5. Laundry 6. Plan wardrobe for the weekend--might need to shop this week

Starting a few days late. I've gained about 7 pounds since last spring, and it's time to deal with that. My birthday is in mid-December, and I'd like to have made good progress toward 140 by then. I know how to do this; I just need to rededicate myself. Height: 5'5" Highest weight ever: 175 Lowest weight after starting…

Sure, why not? It's kind of fun to see how the things I do affect my weight. If I'm home right after the workout, and taking off clothing before showering anyway, why not jump on the scale?

I weigh in daily. I have the Aria (Fitbit) scale, which sends the reading to the Fitbit app and calculates a weekly average. Those averages are what I pay attention to. Yes, this is easy math and no one needs a fancy scale and app to do these calculations for them. But I love me some convenience. :)

I don't understand what your goal is--to cut caffeine beverages or to cut sugared caffeine beverages?

I am totally working "indehiscent" into conversation tomorrow. Maybe during my pedicure... :)

Lucky Charms is my favorite cereal. I don't buy it anymore, but every time I walk down the cereal aisle I look at it longingly...

Now I've got a Spice Girls song in my head...thanks for that...

I was a cardiology nurse for many years. Unless you're an elite athlete, a heart rate that falls to the 30's (suddenly) is concerning. But the rate alone isn't the only information needed--how did you feel when when your heart rate was that slow? Were you dizzy, light headed? Same question for the rate of 215--how did you…

That helps, thank you. I appreciate it! :)

This is an interesting thread. Can someone help me understand what "frying your nervous system" or *the other phrases used to signify CNS maladaptation/CNS malfunction/CNS fatigue* mean? I keep seeing people reference that phenomenon and I don't know what physiological event they mean. If this is common knowledge, and…

You're right. Not to mention that the OP very clearly said that he didn't believe that stuff anymore. Great question, great answers in this thread. I'm learning a lot.

I'm fine with "male" and "female" used when specifying which gender is meant in discussing an occupation--physicians, nurses, soldiers, etc. It sounds fine and correct to me in that context. But otherwise people are men or women, not male or female. Out of the occupational context, I think male and female are best used in…

I stopped working over three years ago. Didn't retire, just stopped; I was worn to the bone from a demanding job and needed a break. Somehow, never went back. :) Anyway, I go to the grocery store four mornings each week and pick up the bakery items they have pulled from the shelves and that were destined for the dumpster.…

Another tip that you'll probably find useful: an easy way to weigh ingredients/items that come out of a larger container is to put the entire container on the scale (let's say it's a jar of peanut butter), then zero the scale. The jar is on the scale, but the scale should read zero. Now take a spoonful of peanut butter out…

I hope you're feeling a bit better after reading the first responses. I also recommend using a trending app. Keep tracking your calories carefully, keep moving, get enough sleep. Drink plenty of water. If your CI are less than your CO, you will lose weight. I, too, am hypothyroid (for 30 years, since I was 24 years old). I…

I requested to be added.

You beat me to it! Except I skip the Cool Whip because I freaking love Cool Whip and can't stop at just one serving.

Oops, never mind.

Calories matter when your goal is to lose weight. CICO.

I had surgery in mid-February, and the weight didn't come off until about the 6 week mark. It seems like I'm back to my old self now--gaining water weight after restaurant meals, etc, just like I did before.

Just dropping in briefly for a funny story. I attended a new class one time, and the male instructor noticed me and came over to find out my name, whether I was new to yoga (no), or whether I had any injuries. I told him that I hadn't done yoga since the year before when I had torn my right labrum (while gesturing to my…

I'd eat them. Especially with hummus.

I measure out 34 grams of kernels, then pop them in an air popper. Add about 7 grams of melted butter, salt, and enjoy my snack. The whole shebang is around 200 calories. And it's filling, too.

For full tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation (with silicone), the cost was $12,250. If I'd chosen saline implants, it would have been $1000 cheaper. I live in the midwest.

Re the pain factor: my experience wasn't that I was in a lot of pain. I do remember being in the recovery room and needing to cough, and that was excruciating, but it was just that one time. Once I got home, I took a pain pill every four hours pretty much around the clock for three days, but by the fourth day I was…
