  • I'm hating this! I miss my powerlifting routines so much. My local gym is closed until the end of the month, at least. All I'm doing at home is bodyweight workouts, a measly pair of 5kg dumbbells to work with and a Swiss ball! I'm finding it so dull, having just come out of a deload I was really looking forward to going…
  • Amazing Grace by Philosophy. One of the few perfumes that actually makes me feel happy!
  • This is my go-to for well made and functional workout gear... https://www.9for9.co.uk/collections/womens-shorts They are a fantastic small supplier to deal with and stock items from Doughnuts & Deadlifts and Feed Me Fight Me ranges. This is if you want something a bit different (and squat proof, I've never had a problem…
  • I've seen them in Holland & Barrett. White Chocolate & Raspberry nutrition details here: https://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/quest-protein-bar-white-chocolate-raspberry-60008677?skuid=008677&brandId=1000
  • Another one who uses Off Peak. Bit busier in January but 95% are gone by February....."too much hard work". :D
  • Ryderwear D-Mak Rogue for deadlifting .......https://tinyurl.com/vod2zm8 Sabo Powerlift for squats........https://tinyurl.com/vrojrly Both are fit for purpose.
  • Lots of things that you can add to bodyweight training such as using bands. I've also heard of kids doing TRX suspension stuff.
  • I hear you its_cleo! My hips are dreadfully tight, always have been. Even when I was a child I found it agony to sit cross-legged in school and would opt to kneel instead. I cannot even do that anymore, like sit on my heels. My legs are too tight to go down on my heels unless I wedge a little cushion there! Any flexibility…
  • Good mornings. Nothing wrong with them if done with good form and not use silly weight. Do them slow and use mind/muscle. Close grip bench press.
  • This is a really good post. When you stall the saying "take two steps back to make one step forward". .....is the truth! :)
  • I raw powerlift. Wrist wraps are important to me especially on pressing bars and 'bells. So many tiny little bones in the wrist joint, it's good to keep it supported IMHO and I always wear them. Neoprene knee sleeves for squats were a revelation for me. As the weights increase I don't feel like as if my kneecaps are going…
  • I use Slingshot Knee Sleeves 2.0. Same price as the SBD's though. I'm 5'2" and bought size Large. My calves are 15". I'm really happy with them. https://www.improveyourbench.co.uk/collections/sleeves/products/slingshot-knee-sleeves-2-0
  • I've had a tubal ligation done and was walking like a little old lady for at least a couple of days after! As mentioned waiting for the gas they pump into your abdominal cavity to disperse is the main cause of discomfort with the obvious fact that you have been "keyholed" through the abdominal wall and prodded around…
  • Overheard outside the gym by the bag lockers..............."Calories are bits of fat" :o
  • Agree with this. Really good idea to get an instructor at the facility to show you some exercises on the machines/ free weights etc. and build a little routine for you to get started and give you confidence. It should be enjoyable and fun. Keep at it because results do not happen as quick as quickly as some "influencers"…
  • I changed the way I do shrugs after following how Sean Nalewanyj does them as demonstrated on his channel...........https://youtu.be/IV0XGIf8y6k Yeah I know it's not a BB but you use DBells at a lower weight but you really feel it!
  • This Anthony Williams "medical medium" is often queried on a thyroid forum I belong to. Yes, he thinks natural stuff like celery juice can "cure" Hashimoto's. He's a .........
  • I drink raw ACV with the mother (Braggs) on occasions just as I consume home made kefir and sauerkraut etc. for the probiotic benefits to support my gut as I have Hashimoto's. No weight loss benefits seen (or expected tbh :) ).
  • Handful of prunes usually gets me going again.
  • Champagne and smoked salmon with herb infused olive oil for breakfast. Feeling guilty? Only a teeny bit but we do try to offset it by doing a brisk 3 mile walk to my brother-in-law's house for Christmas dinner....and then I do feel guilty! Oh heck it's one day a year that I eat stuff I really shouldn't and in quantity. :s…
  • I used to take my levo whilst on nocturnal bathroom visit around just before sunrise because taking on getting up got to be a pain in regards to waiting for breakfast and a coffee (especially the coffee, it's known to have an inhibiting effect on levo absorption). However I seem to be sleeping right through at the moment…
  • Please yourselves and be happy with your bog standard sodium chloride that has anti-caking agents added then! I will stick with HPS, it comes from a natural source...it is not expensive and is good for making up re-hydration drinks! :p Peace!
  • This. If you like to season your food try Himalayan Pink Salt, I prefer it to bog standard table salt. Himalayan Pink Salt info
  • Agree. Now is not the time to skimp on calories and your body will be crying out for nourishing foods after taking such a hit. Hope you feel better soon, it's so frustrating as well as feeling weak as a kitten. :)
  • I quit 6 years ago when my husband was diagnosed with throat cancer. He loved his beer and cigarettes and drew the short straw. Naturally he was advised to give up smoking immediately and make a big effort to cut down or stop the booze. It was horrible watching him go through chemo and radiotherapy and I gave up smoking…
  • Ugh horrible thing that plantar fasciitis. I had it along with adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) as part of a "welcome pack to your new autoimmune condition" pre-diagnosis of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Every morning and a couple of times during the day I did these exercises.....…
  • Better Bodies for me. OK it's a little expensive but the materials are top notch and they are well made and don't go out of shape. The compression tights are fab!
  • Foil boat with a little butter and fresh ground black pepper, seal together the boat along the top leaving a nice gap and bake for 20 minutes or a little less if you don't want it tto dry. This will effectively steam the fish. Always try to get the wild salmon, it's another level compared to the farmed stuff and much…
  • I remove my ring for safety purposes. Keeping them on will also encourage big callouses and the knurls on an Oly bar will mash up the surface of the ring making very deep scratches.
  • So the ladies should start wearing baggy old grandpa pants? :D ........... Mind you I could do an equal ewwww at those males who wear skin tight shorts or "men's exercise tights" with all their bits outlined and on display. :s Who the hell do you think you are? Rudolf Nureyev? LOL.
