The kinetic energy equation I learnt said that velocity was very important, so much so it was squared. Pace, velocity, speed or whatever you call it IS important in calories burnt.

The sky is violet, it's just our eyes can't see it.

Rough calculation divide by 4 More accurate divide by 4.2 Most accurate divide by 4.184 Or just ask Google

ACV rubbish. Raspberry ketones, lemon water, eating clean, avoiding all sugar, all manner of diets that cause biochemical reactions and so on. All a load of rubbish to sell stuff or beat people up about their food choices.

Leicestershire here. lbs I can cope with, dates I don't really notice. Caloric instead of calorific makes the pedant inside me scream.

Unless you have been advised to limit protein by a doctor then going higher shouldn't cause any problems.

Interesting but the health disclaimer link at the end somewhat dampens my enthusiasm.

Is my run day favourite of a 118g bag of minstrels going to drive up my blood sugar? 2 or 3 times a week, usually after 9pm but generally in deficit, occasionally maintenance.

I link the Garmin to MFP so I can eat back my exercise calories. Not a brag, more an observation and a bit of a rant.

You could say you've cut out the flavour of the month Instagram or Pinterest or whatever diets that almost always lead to a restrict-binge cycle. A bit passive aggressive, but so are they.

My OH uses gels. I tried one when I was flagging, it was disgusting. Some warm gooey, vaguely banana flavoured stuff. They work for her though. Now I just add a large banana to my breakfast.

Sugar is evil, except in sprouted grains. At least that's what the internet told me. :D

+1 for the creme eggs. It's a sad day when they disappear for the rest of the year.

The main advice you will get here is buy a food scale and choose database entries carefully. Once you start weighing your food you will get a better idea of portion sizes.

You treated yourself on your birthday. Get back to normal and don't beat yourself up for having one big meal.

I got a rare 30% off at the Brooks store so I have 2 pairs in stock now.

Don't cut food you like, that is a short cut to binging. Carbs are not the enemy, unless you know they are YOUR enemy. Personally I go for "healthy" food from my daily allowance then any exercise calories are for use on "unhealthy" but delicious food.

A lot of the oxygen we take in acts as a receptor for hydrogen that is used in cellular energy production, it becomes water.

I bet any runner on here that did a time run that ended up around 12.5 miles wouldn't be able to stop until they'd turned it into a half marathon.

Don't worry about lactic acid, as soon as you are back in aerobic conditions it is converted back to glucose. Distance running is by necessity an aerobic activity, anaerobic respiration is only sustainable for relatively short periods.

You have a genetic advantage and so multi-tasking comes naturally, I however am male and once I start digesting sugar all my other bodily functions shut down.

My triggers are spicy food for 3 days, stress, excess alcohol. Two of these are easily avoidable. I can get temporary relief by eating lots of pears or flapjack, not good for weight control. For medication I use Colofac which is an anti-spasm medicine. If I use it for more than 3 days it makes my digestive tract earily…

Schools and the internet need to stop promoting reading.

Oh really. You can use science to prove anything that is slightly true. The OP is clearly in starvation mode and will keep eyeballing his way to maintenance.

The human body is wonderful in its complexity so it is easy to look for ways CICO isn't true. Physics is wonderful in its simplicity so when all the arguments are done CICO must be true.

A lot of commercially grown fruit is from grafted trees. The scion of the target tree is grafted onto the stock of another tree, especially common in apple farming. Carrots are orange due to competition between Dutch farmers to grow a patriotic carrot. Agriculture and horticulture are full of examples of man made products.…

If you can pronounce the ingredients you can eat it? Finally my degree pays off!
