  • Road cyclist here. I used to do 4000 miles per year, but down to about 2000 per year now and looking forward to spring riding soon.
  • Love my Brooks and proof ride it initially to help condition it. Do not over do it, or the leather will become too soft and sag. It is designed to be a very firm saddle, but after riding for a while, and breaking into my sit bones, it the best long distance saddle I have ever ridden.
  • I currently workout 6 days a week 3 days with 60 min cardio (Mix of HIIT and moderate levels) 3 days a week 60 min of weight lifting and 30 minutes of moderate cardio afterwards. This gets me thru the winter, then I switch to biking 4+ days a week.
  • Once I upped my weight training, me weight loss per the scale has slowed to a crawl. I do notice my clothes fitting better and muscles making some growth, so not as concerned. I guess I really need to measure body fat, rather than total weight. I have only 15 lbs. to go to get to my goal weight, but do not want to lose any…
  • I like macadamia nut oil as well. It has a bolder flavor and I like it in salad and with tuna fish dishes. I also have used red palm oil added to keto chili.
  • I like making a large batch of chocolate almond fat bombs and freezing them. Then pull one and add to hot cocoa in early AM or late afternoon on cold days. (works on coffee too, but I do not drink it) The coconut oil and organic cocoa powder make a richer addition.

  • I am just now at the last 15 lbs. . I have lost over 100 lbs. since March 2016, and am sure my system is in partial stall due to the low deficit I have had for a long time. I am now cycling my my cals, carbs and protein more to support increased weight lifting and energy. I hope something kicks in soon.
  • I too had little success doing extremely low carb 20 to 50 grams, and my last 15 lbs. are really dragging. I have increased to 100 carbs a day, but concentrate on fibrous carbs like veggies for most the day, and any fruit is only after workouts. So far my energy is higher, I have less cravings, and scale is again moving…
  • I think that some of their locations are better than others. I attended a couple in Denver and was happy with the size and how I was treated. The one in my home town is very small and way overcrowded. They are very judgmental and looking for anyone making noises. I am proud to be the first person "Lunk Alerted" in this…
  • I am an older duffer in my 50's but just lost 103 lbs. and have last 20 to go (and boy is it a pain) Feel free to let me know how I can help.
  • It does not work for everyone. I did Keto for 2 months and it sis reduce my hunger and at first gave me good energy, but even following it very strictly to the keto plan, my energy dropped, and I stalled big time. Once I increased my good carbs, I felt so much better and weight loss started again. I have friends that also…

  • Follow the Dr's directions closely and you will lose as needed. Focus on your protein, water and walking for now, since you are still on liquid, or just starting pureed stage. You are probably only eating 500 cals a day or less even if getting all your protein in.
  • Thanks for the info. I used to do 160km rides on a regular basis and now after going Keto and getting back in the saddle after 3 years of health issues, and trying some of these ideas for fueling the longer rides. So far I am doing no longer than 60K rides and finding all the energy I need with no stomach upset by…
  • I just started Keto about 4 weeks ago, and staying in ketosis for a couple weeks. I can already feel the energy improvement, and carb cravings now gone. To boot, I am now getting thru a weight loss stall and scale is moving again.

  • I sometimes mix some PB2 powder with liquid coconut oil. The texture is just like PB and I like the taste, rather than water.
  • This is a great thread. I have just went Keto and normally do multi day tours with about 100 miles/day. Nutrition on the bike and fueling via Keto has been a concern. I am going on my next tour in 2 weeks and current training of 50 to 70 moles so far on Keto seems to be working OK.
  • I had RNY May 17, and feeling great. So glad for MyFitnessPal for daily tracking to insure protein and water levels are where they should be.
  • I had bypass May 17, and with Pre-Op diet and surgery, I have lost 54 lbs. (70 more to go.) I get in about 600 cals a day and have no problem getting full 90 grams of protein and 72oz liquids a day. I did have a revision from VBG I had 20 years ago, due to the VBG complications and issues, and think this also makes my…
