  • One from a truly awesome trainer at my gym: Dont give up on your dreams because of how long it might take. The time will pass anyway.
  • @AdamAussie34 that's a fantastic transformation! Look how happy it's made you!! And in just 12 weeks? Raa!🀟 I'm particularly impressed with your triceps. Nice job! Wow that's a lot of protein! I aim for around 120 and really struggle despite prioritising it constantly.
  • "Exercise should be a celebration of what your body is capable of, not punishment for something you ate" I love this, not sure where I found it but it's stayed with me :)
  • Thank you so much @jeagogo! Actually bricking it now, the promised easy class this morning was hard work, even though I scaled it down, and I'm finding it difficult to eat... I'm just excited, I keep telling myself 😬
  • I have my first competition on saturday! not on stage or anything, an internal gym comp, loosely crossfit type format. I've recently been noticing some real strength gains so I'm hoping I dont disgrace myself or let down my team.. or hurt myself! I'm very nervous but also excited to see how I measure up! I've sent you a FR…
  • I just found this thread! Did 5 earlier, might do a few more before bed once my dinner goes down πŸ˜„
  • Tuna nicoise-ish salad with a whopping 82g protein and 10g plus of fibre. Black bean pasta instead of potatoes. Incredibly filling and only 565 cals including dressing. Yum!
  • Congratulations! Xx
  • Ok thanks for the input! I've set it to sedentary and will reassess in a couple of weeks!
  • Week 1 complete! After attempting full pushups from toes and failing on day 2 ive started again on my knees with plans to restart again once i feel strong enough. Those last few were still bloody tough though!

  • Week 1 day 1. Was going to do column 3 on my knees but at the last minute switched it up to full press ups but column 1. So i managed just 2, 3, 2, 2, and 3 but actually pretty pleased with myself!

  • Managed 14 on my knees, which is WAY more than expected!! Column 3 for me, but i may well restart with proper pushups as and when i manage to do one without collapsing on my face!
  • I've just done the test as per the 100 pushups website.. managed 14 knee push ups before my form went bad (im actually delighted with just this!)
  • I house sat for my mum last weekend and she only had quick cook fusilli twists in her cupboard. Not only do they cook quicker as they're much thinner, but they look like loads more on the plate!
  • Try a weight trending app such as libra. Ive found it very useful in smoothing out fluctuations from TOM, water retention and food 'still in transit' its reassuring to insert a higher weight and see the trend line still going down!
  • Weighing and logging everything! Even and especially the stuff youre not proud of! It keeps you accountable to yourself and the more accurate your data is the better. The numbers do add up (CI/CO) but its not ALL about calories. adequate protein and fibre keep most people fuller for longer and it all helps to make sure…
  • I have so very few photos of myself, the one on the left is around 163lbs (july2017) but could well be heavier, the other two are from this morning. Im so proud of what I've accomplished and so inspired by all of your photos! Ive recently started lifting, LOVE feeling stronger and am so excited about this next phase of my…
  • Yess!! Superb job! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  • Personally i dont bother trying to record planks, walks that come within my basic 10k steps, or the odd couple of sets of squat or lunges i do when i get the chance... your body will know about it even if you dont record it! 😁
in Planks Comment by magpye76 May 2019
  • I wasn't in any way suggesting that planks are the only core exercises to do, just what i have found works for me 😊 That said, I'm itching to get to the gym and start trying out these compound lifts (my lad starts preschool this friday, yaye for a couple of hours to myself!) I do feel relatively confident that my core is…
  • I'd be very interested to try this! I have flat feet and find orthotic insoles/lifts really help but if i can help by strengthening certain muscles I'm in!
  • Can you plank? I find them excellent for my core. There are countless variations but form is really important so start with a simple elbow or full plank (whichever is more comfortable for you) and do a few seconds at a time. I thought planks were impossible to start with as my core was very weak but i persevered and love…
  • Tea! Preferably Yorkshire...πŸ˜„ cup measures seem so open to interpretation, thankfully i found the drop down menu on serving sizes, usually 1g or 100g options πŸ™‚ I've sent you all friend requests btw πŸ€—
  • Midlands here! Welcome to mfp :) you get used to the lbs thing pretty quick but the date thing still messes with my head!
  • You look leaner and stronger, great inspiration!
