Ladies wanna get better at pushups?

Hello!
So I'm totally new here, and I wanted to find people to keep me honest with a challenge I failed many times. It's https://hundredpushups.com/. The first time I did it was great. I went from 1-2 pushups to around 50 pushups. Then, I quit. I tried it a few more times, but never made it all the way. I'm determined to finish this this time, and was hoping to find a community of women to tackle this with.
If you've never done this, it's just 10 mins or so 3 days a week, but it's tough. It becomes a mental challenge as well as a physical challenge.
But it's also really rewarding. I remember when I beat my boyfriend (at the time) at a pushup challenge, and I felt so bad *kitten*!
I noticed there have been groups for this in the past, but no current ones. If I started a group, would anyone join? I'd love to have buddies for this!

It's following this website https://hundredpushups.com/.
There's a group to help motivate each other with the challenge. It's open so you should join!
Here's the group:

I'm joining your group! I've been doing it with a friend, I'll see if she will join too! I started this in February with a group. I was doing modified pushups at the time. Now I can do them on the floor, but I'm still working to get stronger!

The group is growing! I'm so happy! I'm a little obsessed with the idea of having a big group of us working together and getting better at pushups. Pushups always intimidated me until I tried this challenge once before, but not anymore. This really works! Ladies, if you're intimidated by pushups, don't be! Join us, and I promise if you stick with the program, you'll get way better at them and be doing them on your toes and ripping through them!

Week 1, Day 3! It's so early in the morning, but I did them!
8, 10, 7, 7, 10
The last set was super hard. Way harder than the previous days, but it's probably because I didn't sleep enough. Anyway, on to week 2 next week. I'm looking forward to taking two days off lol. But I'm pumped for next week!
You should join the group if you're interested in getting better at pushups. This program really works!

Still sore, but I love the feeling because it means I’m getting stronger!0

100 pushup challenge, week 2 day 1 here we go!
Did sets of 9, 11, 8, 8, 11 with 60 second breaks between each.
It was hard. The breaks never feel like they're enough , but I powered through anyway. Proud of myself for keeping with it!
It's never too late, you can start today. If you're reading this, you should join this open group. No pressure to finish, but I guarantee you'll feel stronger and more confident after just a few weeks!

Guys, a week ago, I could do 8 pushups max. Today, I did 5 sets, 9, 11, 8, 8, 11. Each set was at least my max from last week. I FEEL SO BADASS! I feel like my arms are looking a little more toned too. I can't wait to be pounding out a bunch more easily!1
-
I've just done the test as per the 100 pushups website.. managed 14 knee push ups before my form went bad (im actually delighted with just this!)1
-
You are inspiring me, I need to take the test and see where I am going to start.0

Yes! So excited to have you guys! We got this!0

100 pushup challenge, Week 2, Day 2, Done!
10, 12, 9, 9, 13 (from the toes, with 90 second breaks)
This felt like my limit. The last set really took some serious mental energy, and I don't think my form was perfect for the last couple. But I did squeeze them out, and I feel like going to my edge like that is what really makes me stronger, so it's all worth it! Hopefully I can handle day 3...0 -
100 pushup challenge Week 2 day 3:
12, 13, 10, 10, 15 with 120sec breaks on toes, DONE! That's a total of 60!
I wasn't sure I'd make it through this one since day 2 of this week was so hard, but I think the longer breaks really helped. I was actually fine until the last set. The last set was really hard. The last 5 really took some willpower, and I don't think they were perfect, but I made it!
Also, I'm noticing that I'm not getting as sore between the days, even though I'm doing way more pushups than just a couple of weeks ago. I think my body is getting used to it, which feels good.
Doing the exhaustion test either tomorrow or Sunday, let's see how I do!

I just did the exhaustion test, and I squeezed out 21! Can you believe it!? I can't lol. I TRIPLED the number of pushups I can do in 2 weeks. I feel beastly.
I also am in fear because that puts me in column 2 of week 3, and it's looking pretty intimidating... Keep me on it, okay guys?
Looking forward to seeing how much improvement you've made in two weeks too!0 -
100 Pushup Challenge Week 3 Day 1:
12, 17, 13, 13, 17, total of 72!
This was SO HARD. But I got through it. The last set was torture, I don't know how I finished it. I ended up taking a longer break than the suggested 60 seconds because there was no way. Hopefully I can stay with this week, but I might have to repeat this day if the next day is too insane.
Wish me luck!
Also, join the challenge, so you can cheer me on and I can cheer you on lol!

100 Pushup challenge Week 3 day 2:
14, 19, 14, 14, 20 (did an extra one at the end!) (90 second breaks, on toes) total of 81 DONE!
I was intimidated by this day, but somehow, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I was able to do them a little later in the day than normal after getting good sleep, so I think that made a big difference. Feeling strong, and ready for day 3!
How's everyone else feeling? I hope you're feeling great about yourself and strong, you deserve it if you're sticking with it. I certainly do!
And I'll keep saying this, JOIN US! This challenge is amazing, you'll see results, and there's a strong community that will support you.0 -
I feel like I'm a little late to the party, but I'd love to join! My initial test is... disappointing. It's been a long time since I've done any strength training and it shows with my initial test. I only completed one push-up with good form. (Though, if I'm being honest, push ups have never been a strong point of mine.) I think I'll have to start with modified push ups, but hey, gotta start somewhere, right? I'm excited (and nervous) but here we go!2

You got this!!!0 -
Ok, I'm ready to try this out. I've had persistent tennis elbow for about a month so we'll see if this makes it worse or difficult. Starting out, I'm ranked at level 1, can't even do 3 "real" pushups. Guess there's nowhere to go but up, right?
@felicianadine3 Looks like we're in the same boat! I'm looking forward to getting a stronger upper body.2 -
Are these knee pushups? I'd love to join but all I can manage so far is a few knee pushups0 -
@Kuchiness you can do which ever type of push-up works for you.
Question: Am I supposed to be able to lay all the way back down between each push up and then push myself all the way back up from laying on the ground? Because if so, I'm going to have to go to my knees...1 -

Kuchiness- you can do whatever kind of pushup you want! Knees are totally fine, you'll probably be strong enough to do them on your toes in a few weeks, so you can start over then, or just keep going on your knees. Totally up to you!designerdiscounts wrote: »@Kuchiness you can do which ever type of push-up works for you.

I don't know if this is helpful, but I go down so basically my nose almost touches the floor, and back up.1 -
100 Pushup Challenge Week 3 Day 3:
16, 21, 15, 15, 21 (120 second breaks, on toes) total of 88 DONE!
Oof, that one was hard. The last set had me shaking. But I think the longer break time was helpful, I did somehow make it to the end. I'm looking at the next week, and it's looking pretty scary... especially with the shorter break on day 1. We'll see how it goes, if it's too much, I may repeat this day a few times...
If you're doing this, hope you all are enjoying this dreadful challenge! If not, join up! Here's the link to the group, it's an open group.
