I'm a firefighter/paramedic just outside Chicago...thankful to have this job but in all honesty it can wear you down physically/mentally.

The only way I got through it was food prepping twice a week. I'm not a picky eater so it wasn't that bad...I did miss booze tho, and pizza.

I've done strict paleo on and off over the past 4 years...the hardest thing for me is booze and diary. Good luck!!

I'm kinda in the same boat...ten pounds would be great but it looks like I'm going to have to get real strict for it to come off. I'm thinking no booze, more veggies and less red meat.

I did it for almost four years...I'm doing my own thing now. It has its positives...and negatives. Really depends on the programming, coaching and how the owner runs their business.

I did it for almost 4 years...I could ramble on and on about the pros and cons! I would say this...if you have more than one CF "box" research them...look at the trainer profiles. If they only have one or two cert than that's a red flag. If you start working out there...and your unusually sore and hear others complaining…

Yep...same problem here. I try to workout out a little extra on weekends and if I have booze keep the food portion somewhat clean. But...doesn't always work out that way.

I think if you haven't really lifted weights before...find a local gym that will teach you how to properly squat, deadlift and press. Once you learn these movements with a decent diet you will be shocked how your body responds! Feel free to add me if you like.

Yep..just think of doing a lot of work in a short amount of time. Not much rest...and you want to feel uncomfortable doing it. I love the rower...do 250 meter "sprints" with a minute rest for 7-10 minutes. I recently joined an Orange theory gym to this 2 times a week...my other workouts are strictly lifting heavy. Good…
