  • Yep, same here when mowing the lawn!
  • Just normal butter? If it enhances your food and you have the calories, then why deprive yourself of something you enjoy, all in moderation.
  • Mine does the same, every now and then. A work around for me is to check my activity feed on MapMyWalk and that seems to nudge it on to MFP.
  • In the settings option, choose 'my apps and devices' and it should be listed as an option to add.
  • Settings...my apps and devices.
  • Have you tried Map my walk, its part of the MFP family. If you link it to MFP it will calculate based on your stats, weight gender etc. It has always been quite accurate for me.
  • Chub rub...I do not miss that at all. Before I lost the weight I used to spray on dry shampoo, dont ask me how it worked but it certainly helped to stop the sore chaffing on my skin.
  • Ok...not the gamer but the wife of one. Red dead redemption 2 has kept hubby quiet for weeks now! He hasn't enjoyed a PS 3/4 game this much since The last of us.
  • My mum isn't the type to talk about it. But I don't think she had any medical or other help to deal with it as far as I'm aware. My sister went through treatment for breast cancer, and now has the all clear (fingers crossed) but her periods never came back after all the treatment. So no one to compare to for me.
  • I count an hour of mowing the grass. It takes me about 4 hours and it's tough and I have 2 large patches to push a heavy petrol mower around and it's exhausting. I think counting the full 4 hours would be way too much, so I just put down an hour. Other house hold jobs I don't count as extra exercise.
  • Why do you need to imput the cooked weight? I add all dry weights, uncooked and thats it. Cook it, I then portion it, I do weigh out to make sure each portion is equal, not just eyeball but only for that reason. So for example if all ingredients added up to 3000, I devided it in to 6 portions, my serving would be 1/6 of…
  • I walk daily, usually about 8 kilometers. I logged and counted my calories and lost 8 stone and kept it off for almost 2 years now. I do think the walking helped me loose some of the weight, but mostly for me it helped me to look better, the walking kept me toned as the weight dropped off.

  • Thankyou for the welcome ladies, some days it feels like such a struggle dealing with all the changes. Good to know its not just me. I walk a lot, out of necessity as I don't drive and live in a rural town and I try to get a fair amount of exercise in at home, stationary bike and elliptical. I find it eases the stomach…
  • What a good idea, will start counting if this current one ever stops lol.
  • Active wear, leggings etc is pretty much the Irish mammy uniform, most of us head off after the kids go in and try to "get my walk in". It's funny, as a british expat, I thought nope, that won't be me, but here I am 5 years later stood on the school yard in active lycra!
  • No way I can watch the Punisher unless it's on the big TV and my hubby is watching it too. We are big fans lol! While on the elliptical and stationary bike I have watched all through The Mentalist, Dexter and Death in Paradise when wanting something more light hearted. I am on the look out for something new to watch now.
  • I have lost over 100lbs since starting my weight loss journey, I seemed to go through cycles of which bit got smaller as the lbs went down. At one point my waist reduced a lot in a short space of time, which then in my eyes made my hips look massive. It does all even out for the most part, try not to get frustrated and…
  • I'm not a runner, but recommend silver gloves, I suffer from circulation issues and wear fingerless silver gloves to keep my hands warm. Would they be an option to wear under your regular touch gloves. Bought mine on Amazon (raynauds/circulation gloves).
  • I track my walks with MapMyWalk, which is part of the MFP family so to speak. It automatically syncs this as exercise on my diary. It also gives info about speed, distance, time etc. It certainly opened my eyes as to the speed I actually walk, much faster than I thought.
  • Curious how much milk you have with your cereal, I have 100mls full fat cows milk and its 68 cals. I find it more than enough for the 50gms of cereal I have.
  • Worth it, definatly. We have the room to have my bike set up all the time, so no messing about, just get on and go so to speak. I listen to music as I cycle on speed days and I bought an adapter from amazon which fits on to a cheapo camera tripod to hold my tablet to watch on slower cycle days. I am in Ireland and paid…
  • 0h the last episode of season 2, I think I held my breath as I was watching the last bit...can't wait for season 3. Best thing I have watched in a long time. That said the story might not be too everyones taste though. Current binge watch is "The heart guy" aussie lightweight drama, easy watching and likeable characters.
  • I think you are self sabotaging and you are using the magic weight as an excuse. You need to stop focusing on the number on the scale and put the effort into calculating a manageable and sustainable amount of calories. As previously said by someone, you seem to have an answer for everything and a negative response to any…
  • Spent my 30th on a maternity ward with a 2 day old and my 40th was a quiet family meal. My 50th won't happen for a few years so anything could happen :-)
  • My husband had the exact same issue with map my walk recently. I was walking and using mine right along side him with no issues what so ever...he deleted and reinstalled the app and so far all has been fine with it.
  • I drink boiled water while its still hot with a slice of lemon, I prefer a hot drink to a cold one, but as I don't like tea, I found the black coffee I was drinking all the time was starting to stain my teeth so I started on the hot water. I do find it helps to keep me feeling fuller for longer.
  • It depends on the type of gardening, pottering with my pots I don't count as exercise. But pruning the hedges or the climbing roses I do as it involves a lot of crouching, squating and ladder climbing but I usually only put half the amount of time I was actually working. Mowing the grass with a petrol mower takes me about…
  • Same here, wedding and engagement ring very loose. I can hear them jingling against each other. Going to buy cheap dress ring as a temp measure for the summer and holidays untill I have them resized. Suncream and slimmer fingers not a safe combination 😎
  • I also use map my walk, the calorie burn is a bit on the high side. But it opened my eyes to how fast I actually walk.
