  • My progress line from the start of MFP to now 83 days logged and 53 lbs lost
  • Got two, was able to wear a 2x shirt for the first time since high school almost 17 years ago. The second is kind of a scale victory. I was able to weigh my self on the grocery store scale. I usually peg the hell out of those things but now I can get my actual weight and not be embarrassed when the needle tops out.
  • Being able to go 45 min on the stationary bike. When I started I was pushing it to make 10.
  • Just today I was able to Bend over and tie my shoe with out losing my breath or losing balance. For so many years I had to sit down and bring my shoe to me instead of bending over to tie it.
  • When I go shopping my whole food is not taxed because it is a necessity i.e. Veggies fruits meats canned items. Food like chips, sodas, candies and pre made deli items have a sales tax placed on them.
  • Disney is a hard place to eat healthy. But can be done like said above share meals. Not only is it healthier by also saves money. when I go and I go a lot, bring snacks with you and only eat meals in the park. One thing to remember. Is all the walking you will be doing in the Florida heat and my god it is hot right now. I…
  • Know that feeling also how hard chairs are. I use to be able to sit all night now I can make it about 20 minutes on a folding chair.
  • I really like obese to beast from YouTube. Very inspirational and motivational.
  • I am the same way. I attribute it to the way I was raised. You wake up eat breakfast at noon you eat lunch and at 5-6 dinner everyday. So your body and brain is trained to think in terms of numbers on a clock not the true physiological aspect of being hungry. I have started waiting to eat when I wake up and extending my…
  • I use to only lift weights to me exercise is exercise. I just recently added cardio to my workouts for heart health. I hated cardio. One thing to remember with weights is the scale number might not change because you have gained muscle which is more dense than fat. So you might shrink but be the same weight on the scale.
  • Have two of them. I am now able to do the exercise bike for 30 mins use to not be able to do 5. The second is I had to buy a new bathing suit for vacation. My old one is a 4x my new one is a 2x. Plus I was able to buy it at old navy instead of the big and tall store.
  • When you go to add food it's in the top right corner.
  • I am 6'4" and went to Disney world when I was over 400 and was able to ride everything. Most of the rides don't have lap or shoulder bars. It might be a little uncomfortable once your in. The biggest thing is the heat especially in August and September in Florida. I live here and we are having an unusually hot summer so…
  • The things that have helped me is weighing and logging my food. But the biggest help has been meal prep I usually take one day and make several meals I will use during the week. Make it a lot easier especially with my kids I can just grab the meal nuke it and eat.
  • It can mean a number of things. The decline in exercise can be an issue. You may need to readjust your calorie goal. I would try the exercise then look at the calories.
  • Work walking may not be classified as exercise, but it definitely does count. On any giving day I can burn 1500-2000 calories just by doing my job. I am a walking security guard, the big factors are weight it takes some people more effort to move their body and age. If you google it there are places that can give you a…
  • Diabetes starts in the pancreas which is the part of the body that produces insulin. Type two diabetics get the disease because there body stops being able to process the insulin in the blood stream. Insulin is what turns sugar to energy. The reason why it is linked to obesity is fat causing the cells in your body to lose…

  • I have been diabetic for a few years now hoping to fix that with some weight loss. Eat your fruits and carbs your body needs it for energy. Stay clear of processed sugars and added sugars. One of the biggest things that help diabetics is activity. Almost everything we eat is turned to sugar in our body. I have had days…
  • The one thing that helps me to keep from binge eating is when I get a craving for a donut or candy bar I eat one. But make sure to long it. I have learned over the years with many failed diets that if I keep denying myself my desires eventually I crack then I really give in and I'll polish off a large pizza by myself. But…
  • I flipped one day, I weighed myself at work and thought I gained 10lbs in two days. But I remembered that at home I weigh with very little on. At work I had my boots and clothes. When weighing for weight try to always do it on an empty stomach and usually the same time of day. I do mine first thing in the morning when I…
  • I could probably donate mine to a Boy Scout troop and they could use them for tents. I can't wait to be fully out of my fat clothes.
  • It was hard to find a good before since I didn't take many pictures then. But I found one. In my before my head was really testing the strength of those oakleys lol.
  • I was like you super muscular and active in high school playing football and baseball. When I graduated and went to college I just sat around the dorm and ate pizza and drank beer and put on the pounds. I didn't have the drive anymore and no coach to kick me in the rear anymore when I started slacking. I went from 195 to…
  • Well you would have thought it would have been my first foot surgery due to diabetes, nope, then maybe the surgery where I lost my pinky toe due to diabetes, nope, still thought I had under control. The final straw and the moment I said hey man what are doing. Is when I was sitting in a hospital bed extremely exhausted and…

  • Well I lost 40 by doing no carbs. But that only lasted for a little while then the carb cravings where so bad a fell completely off the wagon and gain 20 back. So then I just started reading and researching. And finally gave up on fad diets and miracle pills. I started counting calories and logging food I still eat what I…
  • Original goal was 200lbs I am down 80. Just take it one day at a time. And don't be discouraged when you fall just pick yourself up and get back on the horse. The 80 lbs has been a 3 year journey. Due to me trying fad and quick fix diets. Now I have found the right way to get healthy no more miracle pills.
