I’m tall at 5’’9 currently in the 160’s and have a body fat percentage of 28.. I plan to lose 20 pounds of body fat. I’m unsure of what my body fat percentage would be if I lose 20 pounds of fat but I would guess somewhere between 23-25 BF%. If I exceed this goal and I end up getting down to 21% body fat percentage then…

I’m in the camp of it depends as I can only speak for myself. I’m currently in the 160’s as of now and have been maintaining for awhile... For me it took awhile to lose the weight because of my mind set.. I wanted results fast and instant gratification, and it absolutely was not a good thing.. I lacked discipline and…

I have a sweet tooth as well.. And a serving size can quickly turn into five or six.. And seeing what you could weigh if you keep eating the junk food is very depressing yet motivating. It really is a valuable tool.

I’m not sure about the vegan hype either.. But I can say from experience that there are benefits to eating a mostly plant based diet and cutting back on the animal products. I still eat chicken and other animal products but not in the quantity’s I use to.. The biggest benefit of eating more vegetables is clearer skin and…

It depends on the conversation but if something is said in regards to me and my health I'll definitely say something. Lately I try to stay out of food and weight loss politics, it's like walking into a battlefield. Everyone I know has different perspectives on it and we always harshly disagree.

I drink a cup of coffee every other day. I use the keriug kind and add a packet of sugar cane to my coffee. It makes it taste sweet without going over board.

Sometimes I do but not lately.. I'm harsh on myself when I see the spike on the scale even if I know it's water or my period. I always have to remind myself to calm down and realize it's fluid retention. Logging my food also helps so I can keep my calories in check and still have a few treats here and there without going…

When you can no longer see or feel your clavicle bones and your stomach looks pregnant and bloated constantly. That was my motivation for getting in shape anyways.

I'm 5'9 and weigh 175 pounds... I've lost over 42 pounds eating at 1200 calories a day sometimes more depending on my activity level. Also the quality of food matters.. I eat a lot of veggies and eat proteins like turkey or chicken.. Eating three big meals on my rest days that have quality veggies and carbs plus a protein…

That Health at Every Size is bull****. This comes from my own experience as being someone who was formerly considered medically obese.

I believe there is some degree of truth however through my experiences people's attitudes around fat shaming are either subtle or back handed.. However I feel like you shouldn't tolerate any rude comments made about you. And you definitely shouldn't pig out on junk food just because a witch of a cashier decided to make…

I've only lost 36 lbs now and my godmother makes comments about "You look good now, dont lose anymore weight, otherwise you'll look to sick and skinny" I have to laugh somedays other days I have to wonder about society.. I say your friend may be shocked and worried.. But I also think that your friend calling you a Skelton…

My advice is to not look on the scale when your sick or on any medications, especially if you didn't increase your intake of calories.. Yes it's completely normal as it's just water weight, however can cause anyone to freakout or worry.. You might also be constipated and that my cause you to weigh more. The scale isn't…

Fat Acceptance is Death Acceptance.. It's that simple.. I say that as a formally obese person.. I wasn't shamed directly or mostly because I was tall but still looked extremely overweight.. But I got fat shamed in very subtle ways from looks of disgust to rude waiters.. I still kept myself groomed and neat despite my…

GMO's are absolutely dangerous. There have been several scientific studies on animals that indicate health risks associated with GMO's such as infertility, accelerated aging, immune problems and the list goes on and on. That and the fact that there are over 125 toxic chemicals in the majority of foods we eat. Eat organic…

I only check my weight once a month and personally that's what has worked best for me. You don't have to look at your weight to track progress though.. You could take tape measurements and pictures as well.

Fire the trainer that says not to lift weights... I'm not a seasoned fitness expert but I do know lifting weights helps you with strength and actually speeds up your metabolism which in turn helps you burn more calories at rest.. If you want to lose weight lift weights.

That's an awesome dedication to taking care of your health.. Did you go to the gym for three years or was it more so being active outside? At what point does working out become less of a chore?
-
Good to know you've already been at it for 2 months.. I've given myself a 2 month trial period for my gym to see where it takes me.. I usually hate the idea of gyms.. But a gym with a pool is a gem during colder months so I'm not complaining.

Thank you for your support... These past couple of days have been rough on my body..

Bloating is the swelling of the abdomen. Every time I get done doing a cardio type exercise my stomach swells up. Toxic pills as in things like Garcinia Cambogia, anything that has fillers, dyes, and all crap..

No.. But you should watch a documentary called Forks Over Knives. It goes into great detail about obesity and fast food... It's all the chemicals they put into the food that makes me disgusted. At McDonalds in other countries such as in France they use chemicals but fewer than American McDonalds.. It's the chemicals in the…

I'm not a mind reader. However, it's all in tone of voice, body language, and facial expressions.. 9 times out of 10 I'm met with a cold stare along with my best friend until we order our food. I order healthy that's when the cold stare/ tone of voice becomes one of warmth and smiles, meanwhile they ignore my best friend…

I'm maintaining my weight right now.. Although I'm far from my goal.. Losing the weight was the easy part once I cut out the junk and walked more.. I think for me maintaining my weight is hard until I'm ready to shed the last 60 pounds. You have to remember that it's a lifestyle change and don't forget why you lost the…

.. I do live in a college area and the places I go to eat are usually by the college campuses.. And generally the people working are people under 30.

It's happened to me.. The best thing I ever did was hiding the scale in my closet and stopped weighing myself everyday or even every week. I only weighed myself once a month on the same date each month and that really helped.. It's how I went from 220 to 202 in a few short months.. As well as cleaning up my diet(going…

I generally don't care what people think but I do care when I go places with my Best friend whom is also overweight and she gets met with a cold distant attitude and I'm always asked if everything is okay.. Generally I have to remind my server that my best friend would like something more to drink and that solves the…

1. I wish someone would have told me that even if you have an ideal weight in mind people close to you might feel "It's too skinny".. Even if they say you look slimmer. 2. Nobody tells you that you have to warn people close to you whom you haven't seen you in months about your weight loss.. Seriously it's a thing otherwise…
