4yrs and 4 months...110 down
-
You're so right...consistency over scale!
-
Thank you! I really need to think of it as building on this achievement!
-
Thanks for the support! I knew things would start to slow down--I just wasn't mentally prepared for it. I'm just going to try to keep my head down and keep working!
-
You all are inspiring! I need to toughen up. The temp is such that it shouldn't be too uncomfortable if I can just remember the dreaded alternative: the treadmill!
-
I'm working on day 4 of my Quit! Good luck!
-
I'm on my second day of not smoking. I'll have to check out quitnet. I'm hoping this time it sticks. I quit for a few months this past summer but then fell into old habits.

Same here. MFP hasn't synced to my Alta or to the MapMyRun app all day!
-
Yay! How dedicated we all are! I just hit 40 lbs down today. Can't wait to see what the next 4 months hold.

Your story is just what I needed to read today. My commitment has been waivering as of late due to added stress at work and an abrupt stagnation on the scale. This story helps remind me that I HAVE been crushing it with every morning workout, even increasing my mileage and disregarding the rain not wanting to miss a…

Went to the Fair last night and was able to join my son on the rides. I'm no longer the parent on the sidelines, too big to fit in the harness!

I bought 2 new pair of jeans over Labor Day weekend (luckily on sale). I was happy to fit into a size 16 as apprised to size 20. Today the jeans are over 2" too big! This time I'm going to a thrift store!

Well done-keep it up!

Me too! I went on a similar journey in my twenties wanting to get in shape. I got super obsessed but it served me well--I began running and worked up to running half marathons. Then, my focus changed. First it was studying for getting my architectural license. Then marriage, life, kids, a stressful job. The weight crept…

How fabulous to have lost the weight together; you both look great, fit and so much younger!

September will be month my 3rd month at MFP and I could certainly use some focus! My goals: 1. Get a handle on my sodium intake 2. Increase water to 96 oz 3. Sustain running up to 3/4 mile

Mine is pant size. I realized the size 20 jeans are getting too loose and baggy so I've pulled out a few older pairs. I fit into a size 18 jeans and my favorite pair from years ago, size 16. Different brands and cut so who knows what my real size is--I just want to stave off the trauma of shopping for clothes a bit longer…

I started at 243 on 6/21. I'm hoping to be under 200 by mid November--just in time to celebrate the big 4-0!
-
I wear a Fitnit Charge which is great for immediate feedback on behavior(steps, activity, sleep, and water tracking). However, when I work out (walking and running in the neighborhood) I also use the 'Walk my Run' app which I feel is more accurate as it factors in pace, elevation and distance (based on GPS rather than just…

I'm in the same boat! I'm currently 223, down from 243. My first goal was to reach 205 (my weight right before my son was born...7 years ago!) Then I plan to get to 185 and hopefully less. Please add me; let's all support each other!

Calorie banking and cycling week to week makes perfect sense to me. If I may piggy-back on this question with my own: When calculating your deficit/banking/barrowing of calories, are you utilizing 'total' calories in or 'net' calories in? Or, even more complicated, 'total' calories + 1/2 burned calories?
-
I just started6 weeks ago. I'm down 16 lbs from 243 by sticking to a 1200 calorie limit and walking. Good luck!
-
Walking every morning of course helps with my calorie goals. I've also noticed if I skip the morning walk, I'm more likely to make poor food choices and then feel sluggish throughout the day.

I'm in!

I'm on week 7 of Contrave + I found MFP 3 weeks ago. I am very excited about my progress by using both tools. Plus, I've been able to quit smoking. The goal is to make these true life changes that stick!
