  • back at it again and looking for more friends! :)
  • Yes please! I've been on and off of this thing forever. Last bout lost 20lbs thanks to adding friends. Then off the wagon again... But i'm back and ready! anyone looking for friends feel free to add me.
  • I was on zoloft for most of my life (27, started at 11) and only when I was older did I realize that it was the reason I felt like such a zombie. We added in wellbutrin to see if that would help and I loved it because it actually gave me more energy. I'm on Wellbutrin ONLY now and the opposite effect from the zoloft has…
  • Not sure if it's a chemical thing or what. Sometimes I think I stress eat so I don't have the depressive thoughts (which makes no sense because i always feel worse after i binge). I know that when i consistently take my medication I can actually tell when I'm full, so maybe it has to do with neurotransmitters?
  • I'm not sure if I've posted this thread before or not but I'm always looking for more friends!
  • Added! Anyone, please feel free to add me. Looking for some more motivation and adding friends has been a huge help in keeping me going.
  • I'm always looking for more friends - please feel free to add me!
  • I have been on medication for depression since I was 11 years old - I'm now 27. Was on sertraline (zoloft) for most of my life (with additional mgs added as I aged) and then added wellbutrin into the mix in college. About 6 months or so ago I changed and went completely off the zoloft and upped the wellbutrin even more. It…
  • Keep your hands busy, maybe try to do activities you don't associate with eating. I know if I were snowed in and had a netflix marathon it'd be really hard not to binge on comfort foods. This won't help you right now, but I got a Kitchen Safe (https://www.thekitchensafe.com/) and I put the stuff I tend to binge on in…
  • I'm a vegetarian who is also a very picky eater so I depend on nuts for protein quite a bit. There are tons of great roasted nut recipes out there I end up eating them raw most of the time. I like almonds and cashews, or i'll buy a mix. Spicy is good because then I won't eat way too many... a smallish serving is actually…
  • This is me all the way. If I eat in the morning, I'm way more likely to go over my calories... I've never been a breakfast eater. So I just don't eat breakfast anymore. I've been trying some intermittent fasting, only eating between 1-9pm. It's been so easy for me and feels more natural for me to eat that way. If you're…
  • I've been losing on a fairly high carb diet, limiting myself most days to about 1200 calories. I might be losing faster if I didn't eat as many carbs, but this way I don't feel deprived at all.
  • I do this too. On weekends, I take one day where I don't track and allow myself to eat out or order in. I do try to be generally better than I used to be, though. Weekends used to be a kind of binge-fest for us. I also make sure to be way more active than I used to be in the past. So far this is working for me. I've stuck…
  • I walk my dog every morning, so I usually get about 4-5,000 steps in then. Once I get to work, I don't typically get up from my desk too much (and when I do I'm not walking far). I do have a fitbit that tells me to get my steps in every hour, and some days I try to stick to that - but it's not always possible. Lately with…
  • Thanks everyone for the input! I'm excited to utilize this new data.

  • Great question! I've been using a lot of pepper or garlic pepper lately, and i put red pepper on EVERYTHING. I LOVE Chipotle's Hot Tomatillo Red Chili Salsa - I always get extra if I can and then dip my raw veggies in it. I'm constantly looking for a similar smooth store-bought version, so if anyone knows anything let me…
  • I did the same thing. Adding friends has kept me going and I've had more success since I started adding friends than I ever had any of the times i tried MFP before. I added you!
  • Added. I'm looking to lose about 70-75 lbs at first, and then go from there. Feels like a long way to go, but I'm chipping away with the support of my MFP buddies. Anyone looking for more friends, feel free to add me!
  • I'm a vegetarian, but I certainly don't eat "clean" or judge others on what they eat. I'm trying to eat LESS of the sugar, etc - but I'm not trying to give it up completely. I love my carbs, I love my liquor, and I'm letting myself indulge! Just not letting myself binge every night. No judgement here!
  • This is very true, and I meant to mention it in my comment. However, if it's not just about the calories, they are a good source of protein (which is good for me as I'm a picky vegetarian)! Just giving some ideas for alternatives.

  • I'm interested! 26, 5'7" and looking to lose in total about 78 pounds. So, wanting to lose quite a bit more than some of you but still would love to be a part of it!
  • There are some single-serve fries recipes out there that aren't too bad. Here's one that is on my list to try - http://www.skinnytaste.com/skinny-garlic-parmesan-fries/ I'm the same way, though - If I have a few fries, I'll end up having all of them. Hoping that single-serving recipe might work for me, but haven't tried it…

  • Depression is incredibly hard to explain to others who haven't dealt with it. It's nice to have people who understand the struggle. -Getting out and actually exercising is really hard, but I generally feel better afterwards. However, telling myself that isn't often helpful in actually getting me up and active. I have a dog…
  • Sending a request! Looking to lose ~70 lbs. Just recently rejoined MFP after some failed attempts and have found adding friends is a great way to stay motivated. I tend to overeat at night too!
  • I've done that time and time again - this time, I've been adding friends. It's helped tons... I'll add you and anyone else, feel free to add me!
  • I've been dealing with Major Depressive Disorder since the age of 11. Been on medication since then (with amounts changing obviously and adding an additional one in college). Recently, I had to go off my medication when my insurance made me switch to express scripts and they didn't send it to me for like a month. So, now…
  • I think I tend to do the same thing. I don't feel "full" until I've completely binged SO MUCH that I can't eat any more. I think sometimes when I'm eating, it's just a way to ignore bad thoughts or stresses that are happening. Trying to pay more active attention to whether I'm truly hungry and I think it's helping some.
  • Added you! I've been a yo-yo dieter for a LONG time, and i've been on and off MFP for the past few years. This time, I've been adding friends - and it's amazing how much more motivated and inspired I've been!
  • Add away! I've been more and more active and I'm loving it!
