If your exclusively breastfeeding you should add about 500 calories to what the app gives you. I am breastfeeding my one year old and add 250. Logging everything accurately is the key.

I'm a mom of a 10 year old and a 1 year old who is still nursing. I work out 5-6 days a week. I am a nurse and work 12 hour nightshift a 3 days a week. I don't get to sleep much as my husband works during the day. My biggest struggle is getting motivation to workout after sleeping for 2 hours in 34 hours. So far I have…

I am breastfeeding and doing at home workouts too! My little just turns one so he's not nursing as much anymore. I add 250 calories to my goal calories to account for breastfeeding. I have been doing beach body workouts. Instead of buying the expensive DVDs though, I subscribed to beach body on demand. It's around $38 a…

Thanks!! I should add I did start working out a couple months ago and changed my eating habits. I lost 20 lbs and about 20 inches so far. I have been sore before but this is pretty bad. I will try the chocolate Milk idea.

Take the calories mfp gives you as a goal and add 500 since your baby is young. I just dropped to 250, but my son is a year now and doesn't nurse as often.
-
So mfp gives me a goal of 1500, I manually changed it to 1750 to account for breastfeeding. I get between 7k to 11k steps in a day and don't eat any of it back. I also do a beach body workout and don't eat back any of those either
-
I also don't eat back any calories from my steps.
-
I don't eat back my exercise calories that shows up in mfp that links with Fitbit.

Weight watchers ranch chicken. you can google it. You use reduced fat sour cream to lightly coat the chicken. Then put the chicken in a bag with crushed corn flakes and ranch seasoning packet. The whole family likes it. Also, zucchini ravioli, baked Parmesan chicken, and potatoes, chicken, and green bean casserole.

Kraft fat free zesty Italian is amazing. It's tastes like normal Italian dressing!!!

I'm making chicken stir fry tonight. La Choy is only 20 calories for a tbsp of sauce

I found Gatorade helped with my supply. I started drinking the low calorie kind since there is a lot in the regular.

I have an almost one year old that is breastfed. I added 300 calories to my daily goal. I don't feel hungry most days. Although after I had him I wanted to eat everything in sight.
-
I just add the calories to my daily goal

I work 7p to 730a three nights a week. I log midnight to midnight. So an example of my day off is wake up around 730 and eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack. Go to bed. Then I wake up have breakfast, lunch, take a nap, have dinner and go to work at 7. I have a snack around 9-930. Then I eat around 1am at work and call…

I have also gained weight while breastfeeding so I decided to change my eating habits. Mfp gives me 1500 calories to eat and I add 300 to account for breastfeeding. My little one is 11 months so he doesn't nurse like he used too. I lost 11 pounds since August 17th.
-
I add 300 calories to my mfp goal. I use 300 because my son is 11 months and doesn't nurse at much at he used to. I am losing weight and doesn't seem to be effecting my supply. If he was exclusively breastfeed I would add around 500.
-
Thank you all for your input! I'm in it for the long run.
-
Oops. Sorry. I started at 205 and my goal is 125ish. I am 5'1" my son is eating and doesn't breastfeed as much as he used too.
-
But I add 300 calories to my goal. My baby is 11 months though. If under 6 months I would say to add 500?
-
I would recommend you wait until your supply has been fully established. 6-8 weeks I believe is recommended.
-
I just added 300 calories to my daily calorie goal. My boy is 11 months and he eats food and breast feeds.
-
You should really wait to start until your breast milk supply is fully established. I just started at 10 months postpartum. I could have done it sooner but breastfeeding made me hungrier than being pregnant. I have more weight than just baby weight to lose. I noticed my supply dipped a little after the first two weeks so I…

I am nursing my 10 month old. I am very overweight and short so I am able to eat 1500 calories to lose one pound a week. I have just started almost two weeks ago and have lost 5 lbs. My diet was very unhealthy before. I thought I noticed a changed in my pump amount at work but the next two nights I got what I normally do.…
