  • My husband works nights and I typically pack him some nuts or seeds, some dehydrated fruit, a foldover sandwich with laughing cow cheese and lean turkey, and maybe a boiled egg. He doesn't really like veggies, but those are a good snack with a dip like PB2 or hummus. Key is to balance your macros so you aren't lacking.…
  • I like flavored sparkling waters when I'm not feeling a regular glass of flat. Dasani brand is good and I like Voss lemon cucumber too.
  • Don't fall into the trap of 21 perfectly made tupperwares with rainbow colors lol. It does get boring and repetitive, atleast for me. I would dread coming home to eat 4 day old chicken and veggies when I got off work. I just prep proteins and veggies so they're ready to go, and I can switch it up and make whatever I'm…
  • Basic southern tuna salad lol. Mayo, sweet pickle relish, salt & pepper. Sometimes I'll throw in some lemon and celery or red onion too. I use about a tablespoon of Hampton Creek Just Mayo. No eggs, no cholesterol, no sugar, but so good. Coming from a mayo fiend lol.
  • I know how you feel, and it sucks. It took me while to feel "ok" with eating something "bad" just because I felt like it, or because I was tired or not in the mood to cook. You should never feel guilt when it comes to food, it makes it more and more difficult to have a healthy relationship with your diet and way of living.
  • Welcome! Set small, descriptive goals to hold yourself accountable. If you give yourself a vague plan of action, it's easier to fall off. My small goal for this week is to get in my 9 servings of fruit and vegetables every day. Feel free to add me as a friend!
  • Welcome, welcome! Feel free to add me.
  • Same here! I had my boy November 12th. Thankfully, I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I still have about 30 lbs to lose. Feel free to add me!
  • I'm currently pregnant, but after I have my baby in November I'm planning on losing about 60 lbs myself! I lost 15lbs in 2 months just by cutting out dairy. One step at a time. The biggest thing is to take it one day at a time! Also take into consideration your non-scale victories! Those are huge. Feel free to add me as a…
  • I want to echo what a few people have said, and strongly recommend you see a dietician. MD's have minimal training in nutrition and diet. That's not to say that they aren't credible, but a second opinion can never hurt. I also agree that applying the MFP recommendations (at lose 1-1.5lbs/wk) is ideal in the meantime, as I…
  • I totally feel what you're saying. I currently stay at home, so it's especially hard to not be busy and have a mindset like this. When I was working, I never had a real issue because my mind was constantly on other things besides food. I almost feel like I eat less when I'm not as focused on what I'm eating. It's like when…
  • Hey there! I'm 32 weeks with my first. I've selected the "maintain weight" option, and then customized my calories and macronutrients under "Goals" Add about 100 calories for every trimester, so in your first trimester you only require about 100 calories more on top of your usual need. I can try and answer any other…
  • If you don't have the Pinterest app, I'd highly recommend it! I have a board where I pin new and interesting vegan recipes. Hotforfoodblog.com is an awesome blog, they have tons of amazing recipes :) Their butternut squash tacos are my FAV!
  • They suggest breastfeeding moms add 300-400 calories to their normal dietary need. I just googled "Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Caloric Requirements" and a calculator popped up. I suggest under "Goals" you select "Maintain Weight" and then you can go into "Calorie and Macronutrient Goals" and choose the calorie allowance that…
