I struggle with sweets as well. I seem to crave them most in the evening hours. I purchased Special K Strawberry Crisps. (2 Crisps only 100 calories)This helps me a bit. I would appreciate any good tips as well. ๐

I need to get into the habit of drinking more water. My only drink is black coffee. Part of the day I drink decaf and the rest of the day I drink regular caffeinated coffee! ๐

Hey Nursegirl_jax ,I have such a terrible time staying away from sweets. I seem to crave them mostly at night. I also have other healthy snacks that I could eat, but always go for the sweets.Oh, do I wish I could break this terrible habit. We must try to change our mindset and reach for healthier snacks. ๐ We can do this !

I am very proud of you. We can do this together. I have been with MFP for quite sometime. I have had good days and bad days, but we must never give up. We just need to eat healthy, exercise if possible ( If Our Health Permits) and do portion control. I wish you well on your journey to being healthy. ๐๐

I am proud of all of you. I try to walk at least 5 days a week. I am 63 years old andI did something last year that I didnโt ever dream that I could ever do. I was in my first 5K. I won 3RD place in my age division. I did it again on September 1st again this year. I actually won 2ND place this year. I pray that I amโฆ

I donโt always stay within my calorie limit, but I try to walk at least 5 days a week. It does help with weight loss, by burning calories.We need to eat a healthy diet and one important thing that I do is try to use portion control as best as I can. Walking is still one of the best exercises that one can do.It helps usโฆ

Thanks everyone for your ideas. Some have more willpower than others, and this is a struggle for me. I need to work on making healthier snack choices when shopping. Do some of you never ever eat foods that are unhealthy. If so, you must have amazing willpower. :)

My husband and I keep snack size candy bars in the freezer. Then when I am craving something sweet I have a tiny candy bar. ๐

Donโt give up my dear. We all have them days. I donโt know what type of eating plan you are on, but maybe you just need to change things a bit. The main thing is to eat healthy, use portion control and try to fit exercise into your week. Please make sure to itโs O.K. With your doctor if you have any health problems. Itโฆ

I try to stay under 1400 calories. Sometimes I have felt like I was starving after dinner. My daughter told me I might need more protein foods, or high fiber low calorie foods. :)

I thought I would give everyone a little update. I am now using my digital scale. Now no more guessing. I should have done this along time ago. Thanks again everyone. ๐ค

Thank you all very much. I am 62 years old ,5โ 3โ tall and weigh 173 pounds. I try to walk 3-4 miles a day ,usually5 days a week. I have been on 1,560 calories for quite a few months and I use a measuring cup or measuring spoons, but I do not use a scale. I try to estimate meat portions. I know this probably isnโt t theโฆ

Hang in there young lady. You can do this. I know it is hard, when cooking for your family, but use portion control and try to use healthy ways of preparing your meals. It will be good for your whole family. For example baking or grilling instead of frying. Perhaps you already do this. If so that is great. I ,as well asโฆ
