Looks like you are on a good track! I started phasing out drinks with sugars several years back. I switched from sweet tea to unsweet, stopped drinking soft drinks, and switched my coffee to honey instead of sugar. I did flavored water for a while which helped with the transition. It was a gradual change but I eventually I…

Too few calories can prevent you from losing weight. When we take in too few calories, our body goes into self-preservation mode because it needs X amount calories (depending on the individual) in order to survive. If it's not getting that it works to retain all that it is getting to protect itself, and you. As others have…

My wife and I like Chomps turkey sticks, a stick of cheese, cottage cheese, frozen Yasso Greek Yogurt bars, mixed nuts, and hummus.

My wife and I don't follow any 'diet' per se in the "I'm going to diet to lose weight sense." (you go on a diet, you go off a diet, and you're right back where you started), but our normal dietary habits tend to lean Mediterranean, as it is typically defined (lots of whole fruits and vegetables, nuts, hummus, Greek yogurt,…

The most recent food items we have added to our pantry are Think bars, Ready Clean bars, and Jocko Protein drinks. They have been pleasant healthy sweet tooth options for us. With all the yogurt mentions in the post, I have to call out Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars. They are awesome replacements for ice cream!

My wife and I drink protein shakes almost daily as a part of our overall intake. Our protein powders of choice at the moment are Garden of Life as a good plant-based protein powder and Levels for a good whey protein powder. They each have a variety of flavors. We typically combine them with almond milk or coconut water…

A calorie goal is important as it needs to fit your body. Each of our bodies are different and regardless of charts and norms, there is a certain weight that our body generally feels best at and maintaining that weight (once you are there) requires a certain number of calories. I have a calorie goal that suits my frame at…

Thanks for starting this thread! I am 59 years old staring at 60 in a few months and several years back when I started focusing on my health, I topped out at roughly 162 lbs. That may not sound like much, but I am a small guy at 5' 3" and 162 lbs is a lot on my frame. I stay in the mid 120's now which is where my body…

While we are not vegetarians, my wife and I use Garden of Life Organic Protein Powder in our morning shakes. It's made from pea proteins and they have a variety of flavors that are delicious. I will also mash up a banana, add a little peanut butter, a little GOL vanilla powder, and some blueberries. It's quite good!
