I follow Keto (usually, doing RFL at the moment....so not really following Keto for a short period of time - thinking six - nine weeks) as I have high A1C. Keto - or, a high fat/moderate protein/low carb diet - can indeed be useful for PCOS. Or not! It all depends on the person. For some with PCOS it works very well while…

Okay....so, very generically, auto-regulation with respect to a lift. So, if I am feeling strong af, then I hit it hard (maybe harder than planned). But if I am an just not feeling it today (could be a ton of reasons....did not sleep well, had a fight with my girl friend, worked a super taxing day, did not eat well, found…

I like the idea of having a mirror for watching form. For example, it was weird doing squats when I closed my eyes (like I have repeatedly stated, I like to experiment). I did the same for dead lifts (did it in front of a mirror). That is how things are configured in the gym where I used to do those exercises. I have never…

Ha! I love that. Do you by chance know who Omar Isuf is? He is from your neck of the woods! Ask him about working calves!!!!! Be very far away when you do that! He does not like working calves (because his apparently do not respond). He has no idea of what "acceptance" is......not when it comes to calves! Thanks for the…

As mentioned already (so I am just confirming things) calves are one-part genetics and one-part proper training (seated and standing....super important to hit them *BOTH* ways). Also, as mentioned, the calves are one of those muscle groups (going with "muscle group" here in that there are multiple muscles involved) that…

It is a "Protein Sparing Modified Fast". So, essentially, I am eating a lot of protein. For me and my number of meals consumed a day, I will be getting 205g of Protein each day. The training sessions are more "full body" in nature and are in the "higher" rep range....now, keep in mind that I had been doing powerlifting for…

Thank you, man! But I am fat and have little definition in my upper body. Lower body (and, no fears - not posting any pics of my *kitten*) is where things are pretty awesome - if I do say so myself. And, for those of you wondering - YES, Starbucks bathroom selfies! Hey, I am there all the time, so why not! I am starting…

Ha! Thank you. It has been so long since I have looked I *KNEW* that there was supposed to be something (the green check) but I still just do not trust this.....just me. Everyone is free to make their own determination. But people claim that they burn 850 calories doing 30 minutes of cardio at a 3.0mph pace (on a…

So, as you can see, there are tons of different answers (for both). So, my suggestion - pick one and do that. Just be consistent...either ALWAYS before or ALWAYS after.

Weigh after poop! Always!!!!

Ha! Forgot to take my watch off.....too funny!

#5 - the last one (WHEW!)

Okay....remember, I gave fair warning....pics are being uploaded NOW!

Exactly......recovery may be an issue. All depends on you. Recovery is a huge thing. Ask me all about balls to the wall training that I used to do. But, we are all different.

Hey hey....I follow Keto, too. But dont use MFP for any tracking or logging. Side question: you aware of the so-called Keto Flu and how to mitigate if not avoid it?
-
+1.....and this is even more "awesomer" because I follow Keto and pickle juice (and pickles) are a great way to increase your Electrolytes. Just be careful with the pickles....they can have some carbs....more than you think...read the labels when selecting!
-
This is just me...but I would be very careful using the MFP database. It consists of all the food items that all of us create. In otherwords, this database is user created. When I first started I was nothing but frustrated by the absolutely ridiculous items I found in here. Not gonna use this database....no way, no how.…

Good afternoon! I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. But...at least you understand what is going on....and that you are not crazy! I can only imagine the conversations in your head. I do KETO. It is a possibility that a low carb way of eating might help you. With emphasis on might. Have you considered trying that? And,…

So..you are doing a 2.9 or a 3.0. Something like that. When I am doing my hour I end up at 1.4 miles.
-
When I do cardio on the treadmill at PF I use 3.5 or 3.6 as the speed setting. That is moving fairly well. 4.0 - not sure that I would want to do that for one hour! But that is me.....51yo 6'0" @ 205lbs male.

I did Strong Lifts 5x5 and really enjoyed it. It is the only 'canned program' that I have ever followed. I would suggest that you download the app and use that. I never take my phone into the gym...but did when doing this program. I would also download the spread sheet to a computer | laptop and fill that in as well. Yes,…

Nice job! General rule of thumb (for men), cut until you get to 10% - 12% and then bulk.

BOURBON! Straight! If you are interested in what brand of Bourbon, I will be glad to make some recommendations. I do not drink very often....but when I do it is usually Bourbon.

I will jump in..... I have high A1C. I have know this for several years. I found out via the Life Insurance health check (just one more thing about me that p*$$ed off my now ex-wife about me). I never did anything about the high A1C until six years ago. I very much enjoy Keto. I am a creature of habit when it comes to food…

I am pretty much a creature of habit! Since I am following Keto (because of high A1C) I eat four scrambled eggs and six slices of bacon. Pretty much every morning. Today was no exception. Now, this is going to change soon but this has been my go-to for several months. I really enjoy it...it gets in a good amount of protein…
