  • @Violet_Flux I'm sorry about the bad brain day, December is my worst month. You are posting a lot of green checkmarks and that is admirable. @vkrenz - nice! moving your arms is good form too and burns more calories. Happy anniversary, sharing a free dessert is a nice way to celebrate and you will have that memory @Luciicul…
  • I am down 6 pounds this month and lost some inches as well. I've lost weight before many times but it's my first time losing while lifting this heavy. It was a really tough transition the first two weeks but I've adapted and now am just a little tired. Eating around 1700-1800 calories and 90-100g of carbs per day seems to…
  • @vkrenz how fun! I am thinking of getting my husband a fitbit. Sunday is my official weigh-in and I gained 2 pounds since last week. 1) Was supposed to stick to planned foods but I binged twice 2) Tracked every bite every day 3) Completed 23.75 out of 25 hours of exercise 4) Didn't try any new meals this week but had a lot…

  • @baconslave sorry you are still sick Seeing all of you check in despite not everything going to plan but still logging and doing your best is inspiring. I totally pigged out yesterday, but I had one of the most enjoyable holidays I’ve had in a long time. I usually get super depressed this time of year but lately I feel…
  • Me: 23 Cookie Monster: 2 Binge-free for 0 days Both times before I binged I ate these supposedly healthy Lenny & Larry’s protein cookies. They are > 420 calories each and both times they’ve triggered an urge that wasn’t there before I ate them. Something sinister is in those cookies and they are off the menu! If I want a…
  • I know the plan I am following is not perfect but it doesn't matter since I'm a beginner. Plus I enjoy what I am doing and consistency (and form) will always trump a perfect program. Good luck and please report back what you do and the results! I am an inch shorter than you and was around the same weight before I started…
  • Checking in one last time before the holiday takes over. Around this time last month I had been trying to stick to my plan and when Thanksgiving came I decided to just say screw it and I ate all weekend pretty much. Felt awful but it was the rock bottom I needed to turn that around. I am so proud of my progress the past…
  • Me: 22 LNS 1 Streak: 8 It's been surprisingly easy to not snack this week, I am not sure why, I am so used to white knuckling it. Could be that I've settled into the diet. We'll see if my planned dessert for Christmas ruins disturbs that calm, I hope not!
  • There’s muscle and then there’s lean mass. If you recently started training then you probably gained a lot of water weight, both contained within your muscles and in blood volume. This happened to me (10 pound gain in 2-3 months) despite eating at just above maintenance. My measurements went up too. But after that it…
  • Sunday is my official weigh-in so checking in with my goals: 1) Mini binge on Sunday, but stuck to planned foods easily for the rest of the week 2) Tracked every bite every day 3) Completed 18.25 out of 25 hours of exercise 4) Tried 3 new lunches and 1 new dinner this week 5) I found a pair of goal jeans in my closet!…
  • Me: 20 Cookie Monster: 1 Binge-free for 6 days I did a lot of reading this week about binge eating, there are some unhealthy behaviors that I still practice and they are what led me to slip again. I may start a separate thread about it.

  • @robingmurphy I am eating on exactly the schedule you proposed and it has worked better than any other I've tried. You still have to confront the hunger at some point if you're in a deficit, but I find it much easier to deal with in the mornings. I also have scheduled times for herbal tea and coffee.
  • I am joining late too, but I've been tracking since Dec 1 Me: 18 Cookie Monster: 1 Binge-free for 4 days I was fighting cravings all last week and finally succumbed on Sunday, weirdly this week I've had no cravings at all!
  • For Thanksgiving, we go to the buffet at Whole Foods which allows both of us to pick what we want and there are no second helpings or leftovers. Plus it's weighed by the pound so I tend to make better selections to get more value, ha. For Christmas I make prime steak or roast and we buy desserts big enough to feed 2 people…
  • @vkrenz - the tex mex bowl was so good! I added ground turkey with taco seasoning, onions, bell peppers, corn, black beans and cauliflower rice mixed with a couple tablespoons of quinoa. Salsa and guacamole on top. Would have added some cotija cheese if I had it. Super easy and a very high volume food. My version was 700…
  • I binged on Sunday and that was bad but I got right back to regular programming on Monday and I don't care about it anymore. I'm just glad I didn't go off the rails completely. I am trying two new foods today - Thai curry soup with chicken for lunch and some kind of ground turkey tex-mex bowl for dinner. Having meals to…
  • I am a binge eater! I am a thousand percent better than I used to be in terms of quantity and frequency, but I still have to rule over my diet with an iron fist at times. I used to dream (and still do at times) that there would be a day where I would be completely binge-free and never have to worry about self control…
  • Me: 14 Cookie Monster: 1 Arrrgh CM snuck up on me yesterday! Not blaming myself entirely because it was my husband's junk food. Seeing it every single day and denying myself wears down my defenses. I wish I could get him to quit it entirely. But now he has to sneak it in the house and be discreet like a drug addict.
  • I discovered last year that my weak glutes were the cause of my back pain which makes sense because I sit a lot. It was worse on my right side because I cross my legs and it was so bad one hip was higher than the other. I do myofascial release on my glutes (wherever it hurts the most) with a lacrosse ball and it has been…
  • @Violet_Flux Yeah, I suspect my optimum carb intake is ~125 but I never really know because I stop tracking as soon as I veer off plan, this time I won't do that so I can find out!
  • Sunday is my official weigh in so checking in with my goals: 1) Stuck to planned foods only - this has been the hardest!! 2) Tracked every single bite every single day 3) Keeping the pace to get 25 hours of exercise in this month 4) Switched to higher carbs and have been eating different foods so I am not bored at all 5)…

  • aww thanks for the kind messages!! I have it in my head that I have to stay below 75g to be low carb, but I suppose I will be eating mostly the same foods. This year my focus has been on balance and I suppose giving up stricter eating plans will be the last phase of that. I really have been pushing myself a little too…
  • I’m sorry for what happened to you. In the future it would be polite to put a trigger warning when you talk about your traumatic experiences. I wish you the best in your healing. Stimulants can be helpful for PTSD but phentermine is not a good drug for long term use. I’m not judging you at all for wanting to use it. 12…
