  • Just got back from my evening walk with my dogs. Watched a C-130 circle overhead while we were at the dog park.
  • Here are a couple from some recent morning walks with my dogs. We're bracing ourselves for summer here in Georgia. cdn.net/5021879/uploads/editor/1f/dv54fb0vti6b.jpg
  • I don't have a "b" belly, but I have ALWAYS had a little belly (well, it ranged from little to very round, depending on my weight) from when I was a kid up until now. Even when I weighed only 47 kg (under 120 lbs - I'm 5'6") in my 20's I still had the damn belly. Skip forward decades - I am now 41 (almost 42) and FINALLY…
  • Been awake since 0400... finishing my cup of tea and then heading back to bed for a short nap before getting stuck into the day.
  • I feel the same way. Plus, being on a military post it's ALWAYS busy, and I am always the lowest weight lifter in the room... *sigh*... mostly I just hide away in a corner and wait for a break for the bench, but because it's so busy and I usually have to take about 125 lbs off just so I can lift it myself... I tend to just…
  • Oh man - sorry for the situation you are in but it is EXACTLY the same as the one I faced! I also started StrongLifts and was using .. er... home made stuff (won't even go into what it was because you will laugh) and when I got to the gym, finally, and wanted to try it... firstly, I couldn't even LIFT the bar (EMPTY!) off…
  • I've been struggling with my last 10-12 pounds for the last 8 months... I hover around 138-143 per week (I'm 5'6" and lightly active - I hike/walk trails every morning with my dogs and it ranges from 1 mile to 3 miles, depending on weather and how my dogs are feeling) so my burn varies every day. I tried low carb…
  • I started on the strict keto (LCHF - low carb/high fat) diet a few months ago and have not lost much weight at all - BUT, I did lose belly fat and inches from my stomach/waist/thighs, and felt a little more energetic. However, in doing this diet, I discovered WHICH carbs affected me (I binged on pizza one of the days and I…
  • Doctors rambling on incoherently about patients and procedures... (I do medical transcription) ... When on a break - I listen to an alternative mix on 8tracks.com (Florence and the Machine, Sia, Lumineers, Iron and Wine, Lana Del Ray, Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks, etc.)
  • Grumbling and in pain, and sipping peppermint tea in the wee hours of the morning, after my pizza cheat meal last night. Why? WHY do I do it to myself? *sigh*
  • Pro photographer :) Don't have many long exposure shots though (had to leave my tripod back in my home country) and I was 95% a sporting event photographer (equestrian, mostly) There are some beautiful places here in the US, I have to admit. This is one from a year ago or so, my dogs at Whitesands.
  • Shoo - going to give it a good go and say that I would like to get to gym at least 3 times a week for weights (my cardio is taken care of, as I walk quite far every morning with my dogs and will do some intervals before doing weights on those days) - I would like to be kept on track with that. Weight-wise, I am currently…
  • Exercising horses! Not that I get to do it these days (moved countries twice now - yay military life) but I used to do it daily and I was SO fit and healthy and happy. Nothing like a gallop down a beach on a cold, early morning! But other than that, I like hiking/walking with my dogs, and running. And yoga - but I tend to…
  • Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaacooooooooooooooooooooon.... and tea.
  • Pardon my ignorance, but what does "NSV" stand for? I gather it's a "moment" when you realised that your hard work was paying off.. but not sure what it means exactly. If that's the case then... um.. hmm... OH! Wearing leggings and not having a belly bulge. For the first time in my life, my stomach is nearly flat. (I'm 41…
  • I'm on LCHF (ketogenic) and only been on it for just over 2 weeks and already seeing results. I'm not hungry - I never have to count calories or starve myself - and I am losing body fat daily. dietdoctor.com has been a great asset in this for me. Feel free to add me if you want support and help.
  • Feel free to add me - I am 41 (42 soon) and have promised myself that I will be even healthier and fitter than I was in my 20's. I'm on daily and have a great bunch of friends on here who have helped me a great deal. I've been on MFP for 2 months, but started LCHF recently and already seeing results.
  • What about swimming? That's a nice easy, gentle-on-the-bones and joints and muscles, type of exercise. I scanned through the posts and didn't see if anyone mentioned it. Lots of ways to use water to strengthen your limbs and muscles and get you on track.
  • I have been on LCHF for just over 2 weeks now - will be 3 on Sunday - and I only "fell off the wagon" once and it was a small slice of cheesecake. I didn't OVERindulge, so I didn't feel _guilty_ doing it (we went out to eat with some good friends of ours and the rest of my meal was perfectly well controlled low-carb Greek…
  • I didn't have much to lose, but even the small amount I have so far (and another 10 lbs to go) has made a change: - feeling your ribs and your hips (especially when you stand up!) - flatter stomach (I've had an issue my ENTIRE LIFE with a little "paunch" - even when I weighed around 120 lbs in my early 20's - and now, with…
  • Feel free to add me! It's always easier with friendly motivation and comments.
  • Feel free to add me, gidget_05 - I just started LCHF (keto) and I'm seeing results already and it's only just on 2 weeks that I've been doing it. It's hard to kick the carbs and sugar for some, but once you do and you see results (happens to quite quickly) it gets so much easier. And the food is DELICIOUS!
  • Awesome! Well done you!
  • A cup of black&green tea, with heavy a dash of heavy whipping cream, Stonybrook Farm full fat plain Greek style yoghurt, with a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder, a dash of vanilla essence, and a large handful of mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts, hazelnuts) - I am chock full and only 366 calories.
  • I'd love to connect - I'm a lot older than you, but similar goals. I use MFP every day (got a 50-something day streak going) and I enjoy the motivation/interaction. I'm not a social person IN person, so online works for me. I'm on LCHF (only started recently and already seeing results) My stats: Height: 5'6" Age: 41 HW 151…
  • I would measure myself - I'm the same: barely lost any weight, but my clothing feels looser and my belly is receding quite noticeably. The scale is not an accurate representation of your hard work and perseverance :) Keep track, but don't obsess or fret.
  • I have looked - I thought it was only for premium users! I found it and have changed my macros! Awesome! Thanks for that, mrsnav.
  • I just started (about 4 days ago) on LCHF (keto) and I'm dragging my husband along with me. Feel free to add me too.
  • That sounds delicious, and my husband loves coconut... Thank you!
  • Yes, we're both adults, thanks. I meant in keeping with the LCHF "structure" - would it contain too many sugars/etc ? I don't want to derail our progress simply because I thought it was fine and it ended up stopping us from progressing. Make sense?
