  • Good info. For those who never knew the macros were different, go to a good meat market or store and look at an identical cut of grain vs grass. How can you say they have the same calories and fat? The grass fed has almost zero marbling. One gram of fat has 9 calories so it makes sense that for a large cut with 15-20 less…
  • It’s been pretty widely known that grass fed has much less fat and is leaner. Google it. Whole Foods has grass fed ribeyes and sirloins next to regular ribeyes and there is hardly any white in them. They have a deep red color, too.
  • Theirs seem really high too. Plus grass fed has much less fat and calories
  • Ok good deal. Thanks. Maybe I’ll start small at a 150 or 200 calorie surplus. Thanks again. Just freaks me out to increase but I have to look at the long term goal
  • So my weight stayed around 2 lbs for 8 months and I’m trying to get to 175/180. How many calories should I go up to ensure I’m not getting fat? My strength has stalled as well
  • Yes one week I gained two lbs I did eat out a lot. Pretty sure I didn’t go over my calories but pretty sure it was sodium and I also drank more diet soda and coffee. For two days I only had one BM vs my normal 2 a day.
  • Yes, trying to bulk. I was freaking out because I was expecting my weight to have to gone down over 3 weeks when I was only hitting 2800 calories vs my normal 3000, yet I actually went up 2 lbs. now I’m scared to increase from 3000 since I gained 2 lbs in 3 weeks on 2800. FYI I only weigh myself 3/4 days a week and take…
  • Any advice on increasing my calories without freaking out thay I’m going to balloon back to 220? I was 161 back in the summer so I’ve gone 2-3 up on my bulk in 8 months
  • I'm 159 lbs and doing 200 grams of protein a day I eat very well so sodium has never been an issue I probably do around 300-350 carbs per day My goal is to get to 175 this summer. I think I need to up my calories more
  • Update Just had my analysis done. Since 11/30 I've gained 3 lbs, however my BF has gone from 9.3% to 8.6%. Not sure how that's possible I upped my calories to 3050 per week since so not sure what to do. Since all of this has begun in August I was 7.6% BF so I haven't gone up too much. I would like to get bigger as my gains…
  • I need to weight myself and see I've tried avoiding the scale and going off how my clothes fit for fear of it skyrocketing
  • Good deal. Well I know me and I won't stuff myself every meal, plus I hear you will be doing some walking at Disney so should hit 15-20k steps per day. Hopefully won't gain too much!
  • I'm doing big compound exercises. I trimmed down to almost no muscle so trying to build quickly to match my wide frame. Monday- pulls and carries- back/lats Wednesday- legs/squats/deads Friday- Pushs- chest, etc I would rotate but basically add another Pull and carry on Thursday to match Monday. FYI yes I've hit a stall.…
  • That's good feedback. I do log and look at the weekly average on general and it's worked well.
  • thanks everyone. I drink some half caf coffee and it works great
  • Nuts by a mile I love rice, quinoa, and pasta but never eat them because they don't fill me up and they just make me hungrier
  • i can tell my butt is fuller and my thighs, i was just wondering why my pants are harder to button. I guess its just a mental thing that nobody ever wants to put on their pants and find it hard to button, but if its because my muscle around it are making it harder then im fine. i took measurements in august and need to do…
  • Wanted to follow up this with a few issues that ive been having. 1. Im not seeing the size i want, but i am getting a little tighter in some areas. One is my pants. Is that normal for my pants to be tighter in the waist? Im hoping its just because of all the legwork and core that ive been doing, and not from love handles…
  • i eat other things- a normal day is oatmeal, veggies- potatoes, corn, green veggies, fruit, carrots, kettle corn, yogurt, banana. on saturday night i like to enjoy a nice meal out so my wife and i go somewhere fun and i usually eat mexican or order pizza.
  • Another mental issue I'm trying to get out of the habit of is not being social or only eating things I know what's in them and what the nutritional value is. I know ahead of time when I go out to eat based on the online nutritional info I get anxiety when I get invited to a dinner party at someone's house and they make…
  • good stuff. yes i forgot to post. i dont think i was getting enough carbs. im doing around 200 grams of protein per day and havent been tracking fats or carbs. all i eat is lean meats and veggies and protein shakes with fruit so i doubt im getting much fat except from eggs and yogurt. If i were to guess id say im getting…
  • Those are great articles, thanks for posting. Just what i needed. Cheers!
  • Lol, Chinese food doesn't fill you up? I never knew anyone who got full from chinese
  • "Salad/vegetables. I can eat mountains of vegetables and still be hungry after. The advice people give to load up on veggies to stay full is horrible advice for me. Does not work." lol me too. I was at a NYE party and swear i ate a whole bag of carrots and celery and broccoli and it did nothing to stop me from eating…
  • ive been at 3000 for the past 3 months
  • i work out of my house and travel throughout the day to visit accounts. Im very type A and always moving around and frigidity. I dont ever nap and if im still for more than 20 minutes i get up do something. Im always moving around(plus i have a 2 story house, i bet i walk up and down unintentionally 20 times a day)
  • thats great feeeback. thanks so much. Its just hard mentally as I have struggled with food for so long but I really want to have the body i feel i deserve and work my butt off for. It sucks working as hard as i do at the gym and not getting bigger or stronger. i feel like im running in place. Also, I posted this in the…
  • ever since i can remember ive done a 1% min. i mostly do intervals and mix it up but never go below 1. i will go up to a 2, 3, 4, and 5% and then taper down .5 every 30 seconds. its an incredible workout and does so much more than just a slow pace with no incline. I did my first half marathon last year and i made my best…
  • wondering the same for me. been going non stop for 22 weeks without missing a workout and ive been dragging bad the past two weeks. Thinking of doing a deload week this week because im going to be very busy at work.
