I think that should be pinned at the top of every Message Board category: "Not everyone does or think [whatever] and you don't need to be a prick about it."

But I don't think MFP is correct. How could it be that the minimum for a 5'11 woman is the same than for a 5'1 one? I am 5'3 and 47 years-old, and if I do not workout a lot and eat 1200 cals, I will maintain. In fact, if I do not workout, even if I walk for on hour everyday (to the office, back and forth) my target is not…

And does it falls within your 1200 daily allowance?

I am not sure what people mean by "cheat days" or "cheat meals" when it comes to weight loss. I mean, there are weeks where I will eat over my calories, so I will either stall my weight loss (if I am lucky), or gain weight. And if I DON'T go above my calories, then, it's not "cheating". Or is it? What does it mean? So ...…

A mom and a spouse. Other than that, my life as a lawyer and a person with no health issue suits me fine.

Three expensive skirt suits back in my closet for me to wear to the office. And comfortably. :)

What I meant is that I think you should approach all the issues- or problems or difficulties, however you want to call them - and sort them, categorize them, and focus on ONE AT A TIME. I sensed from your original post that you feel overwhelmed. And maybe you are, with this crazy schedule and all your responsibilities. So…

I would not mind the "vanity sizing" if it was consistent from a brand to another. Consistency. This is one of the many reason I love sewing my own clothes: no vanity sizing there. Sewing patterns companies changed the sizing in the mid-seventies, but since that time, the size charts have been consistent. They're based on…

In the 70's and 80s', the smallest ready-to-wear size for women was 6, if I recall. Now, the smallest size is 2, in most brands targeting 35-65 years-old, and 0 and 00 in brands catering to the younger crowd.

I think a good place to start would be to sort issues in your mind. Based on your post, you seem to mix things that have no obvious relation to each other. Ex: you can't get up in the morning ... because you have a 5 years-old? How is that? And what does your lack of focus on your thesis have to do with your health and…

Because you're one lucky *kitten*. ;-p

Same for me. I gain a pound a day for 4 or 5 days. And I want to kill everybody. But like other said, what can you do. I stay away from the scale, wear clothes that hide my legs and stomach, and avoid mirrors for a week.

Don't like it. Never had. It's a chore, so I do it, as a duty because I want to eat well, the same way I clean the house or take the garbage out because I want to live in a clean place. If I were rich, I would hire a cook / caterer service, first thing.

Wow. No one here care about how they look at the gym? Nobody ? Not even caring a little? Baloney.

Well exactly: most "old timers" have been dieting for several years. Useful and super effective, indeed. ;)

You want a story ? Just start any topic about sugar and/or low carb.

Well it depends on what size range you are. In the smaller range, a gain of 5-10lbs can make you change size, especially for pants and form-fitting skirts. But in larger size range, it is different. If you ever have the opportunity to look at a multi-size sewing pattern, you'll notice than between size 6 (the smallest) and…

Are you logging those "hiccups"? I went through your diary (quickly, admittedly) and did not find any of those. But maybe I missed it. A meal larger than usual can add easily 1000 calories to your regular diet. Divided by 7 , that's approx. 140 per day for the entire week.

I am 5'3". But I swear, I used to be 5'4" ! ;-) Shorter friends, don't you love reading those comments on the boards: From 5'9", 26 years-old women: "You absolutely don't have to eat only 1200 to lose, it's actually dangerous for your health, I eat 1800 per day and lose steadily, easy peasy .... you must not log…
