The ache - as opposed to having pulled something - is DOMS and normal. In fact its proof you are doing your body good. Most important thing is to warm up and down by stretching - a really good stretch afterwards is essential - it will itself be a little painful but a great relief and stop you harming yourself.

Does no carb liquor actually stop you going into ketosis?

Aha. I have restricted myself to spirits but I understand that this just needs to be burned off before ketosis can begin anyway. I typically have an egg and half an avocado in the morning. For lunch I have been eating mostly protein - sometimes a salad with crayfish and more avocado. There is often protein in the evening…

Hi thanks!!! I'll copy a week here tomorrow when I have reception and a charger! I think maybe : alcohol end of day and little too much protein also. Often all is well ... but I drink too much and eat meat or fish before fat. Looking at pictures of keto diets I think I eat a bit to much meat. Appreciate your support. Simon

Log what you eat and drink every day and weigh yourself regularly. You will lose weight if you eat less than you expend. I only get an hour and a half activity in a day - I record as I walk - and I do it on three different apps: its not a biggie.

Will do. Keep at it. Finally worked out what has carbs in! - now I'm losing weight...that and less alcohol and more walking.

How does keto reduce hypertension? Simply weight loss?

Looking for friends! Anyone else on a keto diet: just started.. or rather started a while ago and found that lots I was eating had some Carbs in so not yet in ketosis. I think I'm on it now.

Apparently good as an anti-inflammatory but... it has an interesting taste and when diet food gets boring spice helps, err, spice things up. Buy the fresh stuff: good with fish and in curries.

Just started. Restarted. I have genetically through the roof cholesterol levels and high blood pressure - on meds for both. Want to get off both but recognise with teh former may not be possible. Any advice or support gratefully received.

Hey, I'm starting again too. Add me. I'm trying to lose a lot of weight and ditch alcohol (permanently). Two weeks in I've made some progress - don't want to stop.
